On the afternoon of June 20th, speaking with a reporter from Thanh Nien newspaper, a leader of the Ha Tinh Provincial Power Company stated that the unit is coordinating with the police to conduct a scene investigation of the incident where three workers were electrocuted while erecting a drilling rig for geological exploration under a 22 KV medium-voltage power line.
Authorities took three workers who suffered electric shocks to the hospital for emergency treatment.
According to initial information, at around 3 PM on the same day, a group of workers brought drilling rigs and geological drilling equipment to the middle of a rice field in Lien Phu village (Thach Trung commune, Ha Tinh city) to conduct geological exploration drilling.
About 30 minutes later, residents of Lien Phu village heard a loud explosion coming from the field where the group of workers were setting up the drilling rig. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered a large fire beneath the 22 KV medium-voltage power line, next to which lay three men motionless in the field.
Suspecting this was an electrocution incident caused by a violation of safety distance, residents quickly reported it to the local authorities and relevant agencies.

According to the leaders of the Ha Tinh Provincial Power Company, the medium-voltage power line where the electrical discharge occurred, electrocuting three workers, is under the management of the Thach Ha District Power Company (Ha Tinh).
