This morning, July 27th, to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27th, 1947 - 2024), the Central Business Bloc Youth Union, the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Tri Province, Agribank Quang Tri, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cam Lo District jointly organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a house of gratitude for the family of former Youth Volunteer Nguyen Thi Hong (64 years old), in Tan Dinh village, Cam Thanh commune, Cam Lo district.

Construction begins on a house of gratitude for former Youth Volunteer Corps member Nguyen Thi Hong.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong's family is classified as near-poor. She lives with her husband, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa (70 years old), and their eldest son, Nguyen Van Khanh (45 years old). Mrs. Hong suffers from heart disease, Mr. Hoa has a thyroid condition, and Mr. Khanh lost his right leg in a landmine accident when he was 13 years old.

Mrs. Hong and her husband are in poor health and unemployed. Meanwhile, the entire family relies on the precarious income from Mr. Khanh's tailoring work and his disability benefits, making life very difficult for them for many years.

Understanding the plight of Ms. Hong's family, the Central Business Bloc Youth Union, the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Tri Province, and Agribank Quang Tri provided 50 million VND in support, while the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cam Lo District contributed 10 million VND to help Ms. Hong's family build a new house.

“My husband and I have three children. Our second son and daughter are both married. However, our second son suffers from a serious illness, and our daughter is raising four children on her own. The house we live in was built with support from the Plan Project in 1997, but it is now in a state of serious disrepair. Today, we are very happy and grateful to receive financial support from various agencies and organizations to rebuild our house,” Mrs. Hong shared.
