The South Korean U17 team dominated possession, holding the ball for 77% of the time, more than three times their opponent's. However, they only managed six shots, with only two on target.

Previously, the South Korean U17 team also lost 0-1 to France and 1-3 to the USA. Statistics show that the South Korean team controlled the ball better than their two opponents but still lost.

Korean media were very disappointed with their team's performance. Xsportsnews commented: " Byun Sung-hwan confidently played attacking football against top young players from around the world . However, they couldn't score as expected, while the defense lacked stability and luck ."

The Footballist newspaper wrote: " The South Korean U17 team has identified areas for improvement. They received positive reviews for not abandoning their attacking style of play regardless of the opponent. They played like that against France U17, considered the best team in this age group. However, their finishing was very disappointing, and their defense failed to maintain their position when the team was attacking ."

Before their match against U17 Burkina Faso, U17 South Korea still had a chance to advance. They needed to win convincingly and also hope for favorable results in other groups to secure a spot through one of the four best third-placed teams.

However, the South Korean U17 team was eliminated after failing to meet the necessary conditions. The last time they were eliminated from the group stage was at the 2007 U17 World Cup. In subsequent appearances, the team has consistently reached the round of 16 or the quarter-finals.
