Disciplinary action against the Deputy Minister and former Deputy Minister of Finance.

NDO - Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh has just signed decisions of the Prime Minister to discipline Mr. Huynh Quang Hai and Mr. Do Hoang Anh Tuan, former Deputy Ministers, and Mr. Vo Thanh Hung, Deputy Minister of Finance.

Specifically, in Decision No. 993/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister decided to impose a Warning disciplinary measure on Mr. Huynh Quang Hai, former Deputy Minister of Finance, for violations and shortcomings in his work and for which he had already been disciplined by the Party; the disciplinary period is calculated from the date of announcement of Decision No. 1541-QD/UBKTTW dated June 26, 2024, of the Central Inspection Committee . In Decision No. 994/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister decided to impose a Reprimand disciplinary measure on Mr. Do Hoang Anh Tuan, former Deputy Minister of Finance, for violations and shortcomings in his work and for which he had already been disciplined by the Party; the disciplinary period is calculated from the date of announcement of Decision No. 1543-QD/UBKTTW dated June 26, 2024, of the Central Inspection Committee. In Decision No. 995/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister decided to impose a reprimand on Mr. Vo Thanh Hung, Deputy Minister of Finance, for violations and shortcomings in his work and for which he had already been disciplined by the Party; the disciplinary action will take effect from the date of the announcement of Decision No. 1544-QD/UBKTTW dated June 26, 2024, of the Central Inspection Committee. These decisions are effective from September 17, 2024. * Previously, at its 42nd session, the Central Inspection Committee considered and concluded on the following matters: Implementing the conclusions and directives of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption and negative phenomena, after reviewing the results of the inspection when there were signs of violations and the results of the self-criticism, and proposing disciplinary action against the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance, the Central Inspection Committee found that: The Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance violated the principle of democratic centralism and the working regulations; Irresponsible conduct and lax leadership and guidance allowed the Ministry of Finance and several organizations and individuals to violate Party regulations and State laws in state management and in advising on and issuing mechanisms and policies regarding the issuance and trading of individual corporate bonds, including those of enterprises belonging to the Van Thinh Phat Group and the An Dong Group; and in state management of the budget related to the International Progress Joint Stock Company (AIC) and enterprises within the AIC ecosystem. These violations have caused serious and irreparable consequences, posing a significant risk of loss and waste of state budget funds and damage to bond investors, negatively impacting the investment and business environment and social order and safety, causing negative public opinion and resentment, and diminishing the prestige of the Party organization and state management agencies, to the extent that disciplinary action must be considered and taken. The primary responsibility for the aforementioned violations and shortcomings rests with the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance for the 2016-2021 term and Mr. Vo Thanh Hung, member of the Party Committee and Deputy Minister; Mr. Huynh Quang Hai and Mr. Do Hoang Anh Tuan, former Deputy Ministers. Considering the content, nature, extent, consequences, and causes of the violations; based on Party regulations, the Central Inspection Committee decided to impose disciplinary measures: a warning for Mr. Huynh Quang Hai; and reprimands for Mr. Do Hoang Anh Tuan and Mr. Vo Thanh Hung.
