On May 18, at the online conference on debt management and tax debt enforcement in the first 4 months of 2023, Lam Dong Provincial Tax Department said that the total tax debt of the whole province is 991.6 billion VND, of which tax and fee debt is 510.2 billion VND.
Explaining the reason, the agency said that the economy is still facing many unfavorable factors, the production and business situation of most enterprises is facing difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, and high loan interest rates.

In such a context, Lam Dong tax authorities are considering solutions to enforce businesses that intentionally delay tax obligations, to avoid cases where the tax debt is too large and then enforcement is carried out, but the taxpayer has already dispersed assets and fled.
For businesses with temporary financial difficulties that have not implemented tax debt enforcement measures, conditions will be created; if they do not comply with the commitment, enforcement will be implemented. This is also a measure to remove difficulties for businesses with high debt but are production units or have a large number of employees.
In case taxpayers have been assigned land or leased land by People's Committees at all levels, have land lease or mining contracts, and incur tax debts during the production and business process, and when enforcement has been carried out but the money has not been collected to the State budget, the project will be revoked.
Mr. Ngo Viet Hong, Deputy Director of Lam Dong Provincial Tax Department, said that in order to complete the task of collecting the state budget in 2023, in parallel with nurturing and managing revenue sources, the provincial tax sector will focus on implementing solutions to increase debt collection and prevent new debts from arising.
