This is the common perception shared by VNA Director General Vu Viet Trang and Communist Party of China Central Committee member and Xinhua News Agency Director Fu Hua at a meeting in China on December 3 on the occasion of Vu Viet Trang's attendance at the 57th Executive Committee Meeting of the Organization of Asia- Pacific News Agencies (OANA) held in Hainan province from December 2-4.
According to a VNA reporter reporting in Hainan, the leaders of the two agencies agreed that VNA and Xinhua have effectively implemented the Professional Cooperation Agreement, which was recently signed within the framework of General Secretary To Lam's State visit to China in August 2024. Accordingly, the two agencies will increase information exchange, organize joint professional activities, support each other's resident reporters and exchange delegations. In 2025, to practically celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the "Year of China-Vietnam Cultural Exchange", the two agencies will coordinate to organize many practical activities, of which the highlight is the exhibition of typical images of the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China, on the occasion of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping's State visit to Vietnam in April 2025.
Currently, both agencies are in a period of strong transformation to better fulfill their missions in the new era of development of each country. The two sides highly appreciate the role of technology in their existence and development; agree to continue to effectively and diversely implement cooperation areas, focusing on enhancing information and propaganda about the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China. Given the widespread application of modern technology in the production, distribution and promotion of press products, comrade Vu Viet Trang proposed to soon send a delegation of VNA technicians to learn about the research and application of modern technology as well as the digital transformation process of Xinhua, one of the leading press agencies in technology in the region and the world.
Agreeing with the proposal of General Director Vu Viet Trang, Tan Hoa Commune Chief Pho Hoa affirmed that Tan Hoa is willing to share experiences in the fields where Tan Hoa has made great strides; hoping that the two sides will increase exchanges and share their successful experiences. Up to now, Tan Hoa has implemented more than 200 projects on information and communication development; of which 90 projects have been interested and registered by domestic agencies, ministries and branches.
VNA General Director Vu Viet Trang and Xinhua News Agency Chief Pho Hoa affirmed to continue strengthening comprehensive professional cooperation in all fields with a spirit of warm friendship, as both comrades and brothers.
On this occasion, Comrade Pho Hoa, Village Chief, respectfully invited General Director Vu Viet Trang to attend the World Media Summit on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of Xinhua News Agency in Beijing in 2026. General Director Vu Viet Trang affirmed that this is an important milestone for Xinhua News Agency and will make every effort to arrange to attend.
