In celebration of the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024), the inauguration and handover program of the project to restore and embellish the national historical site of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School, co-organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province, will take place on the morning of August 9, 2024 in Tan Thai commune, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province. This is also the first activity in a series of activities towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association (April 21, 1950 - April 21, 2025).
75 years ago (April 4, 1949), in the middle of the mountains and forests of ATK Viet Bac, Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was born. This was the first journalism training facility of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press and also the only training facility during the resistance war against French colonialism.
On March 28, 2019, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 1182/QD-BVHTTDL to rank the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School as a National Monument in the area demarcated as a Monument on plot 32, map sheet 47, Tan Thai commune, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province.

On that basis, on April 4, 2019, the Vietnam Journalists Association coordinated with Thai Nguyen province to solemnly organize the Inauguration Ceremony of the Monument on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School.

In 2024, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School, the Vietnam Journalists Association, in coordination with the People's Committee and relevant agencies of Thai Nguyen province, has implemented the project of Restoring and embellishing the National Monument of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School in Tan Thai commune, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province. On January 18, 2024, the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Restoration and embellishment of the National Monument of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was held. Up to now, after 7 months of construction, with the active coordination of the leaders and departments of Thai Nguyen province, Dai Tu district, Tan Thai commune and the support of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam), the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School Relic has basically completed the main items.

The Vietnam Journalists Association and Thai Nguyen province wish to effectively exploit and promote the great historical values of the Relic, adding a meaningful destination to the map of contemporary Vietnamese journalism, meeting the expectations of generations of journalists nationwide, attracting domestic and foreign audiences, and actively contributing to the work of propaganda and historical education for the younger generation.
“We plan to coordinate with the authorities to include the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School relic in the list of tourist attractions of the “Windy Capital” - the capital of the country during the resistance war against the French colonialists (including Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan), in which Thai Nguyen holds a particularly important position, the central position of the “Resistance Capital”. We will also step up propaganda to local journalist associations, inter-associations and branches of journalist associations nationwide with the hope that all journalists will clearly see the importance of this relic, thereby considering it a red address for journalists, especially young journalists, to turn to the source, to learn about the heroic history of journalism, listen to stories of generations of predecessors and build for the future of the country's journalism”

After restoration and embellishment, the relic is expected to be exploited and organized to welcome delegations of visitors, journalists, students and pupils to study and experience the history of journalism; at the same time, it will be a place to organize conferences and seminars on journalism, organize short-term training programs, issue membership cards of the Vietnam Journalists Association, award ceremonies for regional and local journalism awards, etc. In particular, the Vietnam Journalists Association hopes that when it comes into operation, the exhibitions on Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School and Viet Bac War Zone Journalism here will not only contribute to preserving and introducing valuable journalistic documents and artifacts from the period 1946 - 1954 but also affirm the great achievements of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press in the struggles to defend the country and in the journey of national construction.
