Video of these anti-tank obstacles was published by the press service of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense , the Ukrainian military news site Militarnyi reported on October 10.
The strength of the new barrier was tested with the German-made Bergepanzer 2 armored rescue vehicle.
“These barriers have proven to be effective in stopping heavy vehicles, significantly slowing down any advance,” the Lithuanian Defense Ministry said in its press release.

Lithuania's Defense Ministry released images of anti-tank obstacles erected between the Baltic state and Russia's Kaliningrad region, like iron fences in the border area.
It is reported that the new defense layer will be installed on the routes from the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation. Kaliningrad is one of 46 administrative regions of Russia, but is separated from the rest of the country. This overseas territory is sandwiched between two NATO-EU member states, Lithuania and Poland.
In early September, Militarnyi reported on Lithuania's installation of defense structures on the border with the Kaliningrad region.
According to the Lithuanian Defense Ministry, the measure is aimed at strengthening the Baltic state's defense capabilities against foreign sabotage threats and delaying enemy forces in the event of a full-scale attack.
Strengthening the border with Russia is part of Lithuania's state program to strengthen its defense capabilities. This year, the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense has allocated nearly 3 million euros from the budget to implement these measures. Starting in 2025, the Lithuanian Defense Fund will be used for these measures.
It is also reported that in the near future, backup barriers are expected to be installed on Lithuanian highways and at the entrances to bridges.

Lithuania's Defense Ministry released images of anti-tank obstacles erected between the Baltic state and Russia's Kaliningrad region, as seen on the bridge connecting the two regions.
In July, Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kasčiūnas announced the opening of the first section of the fence at the border with Belarus.
According to Mr. Kasčiūnas, 27 such sections will be built. The Minister also noted that such structures will be built "almost every week".
These structures will be equipped with various types of barriers, including “dragon teeth” – a defensive line consisting of a deep moat and two rows of anti-tank fortifications, “Czech hedgehogs” and other concrete barriers that will prevent vehicles from moving through the area.
The measures were taken as a precautionary measure to ensure effective defense, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry said.
Recently, Militarnyi also reported that Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have called on the European Union (EU) to build a defense line along the union's borders with Russia and Belarus.
Some EU diplomats estimate the cost of building such a defense line along the EU's borders with Russia and Belarus at around €2.5 billion.
Planning and construction of a defense line on the EU's eastern border should be carried out in coordination with NATO and the alliance's military requirements, the Ukrainian news site said.
