The armed forces of Ho Chi Minh City must be proactive in all situations.

At the training commencement ceremony, on behalf of the Party Committee and the Command of Ho Chi Minh City, Major General Ngo Tuan Nghia, Political Commissar of the Command of Ho Chi Minh City, launched a competition throughout the armed forces of Ho Chi Minh City with the theme "Excellent training, strong unity, strict discipline, high combat readiness" with 5 specific competition contents linked to the implementation of Directive 05 of the Politburo and the campaign "Promoting traditions, contributing talents, worthy of the name of Uncle Ho's soldiers".

Accordingly, representatives of the emulation clusters of the Ho Chi Minh City Armed Forces signed an agreement to strive to complete 100% of the content and programs, ensuring the training time is correct and sufficient as prescribed, and determined to achieve the highest results from the very first day and week of the first month of training.

In 2019, the Ho Chi Minh City Armed Forces strived to achieve the following training targets: training of regular troops reaching over 99%, militia and self-defense forces reaching over 90%, and reserve forces reaching over 96%. Overall, 100% of trainees met the requirements in the inspection, with 85% or more achieving good or excellent results; new recruits achieved excellent results; and competitions and sports events were well organized. The training process ensured absolute safety for personnel, weapons, and equipment.

Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Thien Nhan requested that officers and soldiers of the Ho Chi Minh City Armed Forces seriously adhere to the combat training orders of the Commander of Military Region 7, develop rigorous and thorough training plans for each group, pay attention to force building, improve training quality, ensure it is relevant to the local situation, and maintain absolute safety, contributing to enhancing the combat strength and victory of the Ho Chi Minh City Armed Forces in all situations.
