According to the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Government in December 2023, Luong Tai is planned for development in the direction of shifting the economic structure, sustainable growth of industry and trade-services; high-tech agricultural development, ensuring sustainable development associated with ecotourism, craft village tourism, experiential tourism… The district is currently focusing on implementing steps to adjust the district's regional development plan.

Accordingly, the main task of Luong Tai district is to gradually develop Thua town towards a type IV urban area, and to plan Lam Thao and Trung Kenh urban areas as two type V urban areas, contributing to facilitating the implementation of investment and construction projects and promoting local socio-economic development. Regarding development orientation and spatial planning, the district's administrative center, public works, and commercial and service areas will be relocated to a new position, connected to the central square and urban green space axis. In terms of transportation organization, a system will be formed to strengthen the connection between the existing center and the surrounding areas, and to connect with existing urban areas through regional connecting roads.

To date, from a purely agricultural district, thanks to the promotion of high-tech agricultural development, the annual agricultural production value in the area has increased. Luong Tai is a locality recognized by the Prime Minister as having achieved the New Rural Area (NRA) standard in 2020. Since being recognized, the district has continued to develop plans and implement many solutions to carry out the program of building advanced and model NRAs, with the goal of having 7-9 communes achieving the advanced NRA standard and 10-15 villages achieving the model NRA standard by the end of 2025.

In 2024, the district was recognized with 26 OCOP products, agricultural production value reached over 1,903 billion VND; State budget revenue reached over 173.3 billion VND, equivalent to 115% compared to the same period last year; 97% of agencies met cultural standards; 90% of villages achieved cultural village status; and 93% of households achieved cultural family status.

To develop industry in Luong Tai district, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has decided to add the following to the Bac Ninh provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, to be submitted to the Prime Minister for approval: 3 industrial parks (IPs): Luong Tai 1 with a scale of 245ha (in An Thinh commune); Luong Tai 2 with a scale of 495ha (in Binh Dinh and Quang Phu communes); and Luong Tai Urban - Service Industrial Park with a scale of 665ha, in Lam Thao, Phu Luong, Binh Dinh communes and Thua town.

For 2024 and subsequent years, Luong Tai aims to become one of the province's leading economic districts. Luong Tai will focus on developing socio-economic infrastructure, especially transportation, electricity, and clean water, in conjunction with local development. Along with planning solutions, the district is prioritizing investment in socio-economic infrastructure development; boosting economic growth and production; building a strong political system, ensuring national defense and security; improving the effectiveness of the Steering Committee; strengthening public awareness campaigns and effectively organizing emulation movements; and diversifying funding sources for program implementation…

Bac Ninh: In the first nine months of 2024, the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increased by 5.52%, and foreign investment attracted over US$4.5 billion.
