The operating company stated that the reason for this temporary suspension is to replace the old vessels with new ones that offer higher speeds, are more modern, provide better service quality, shorten travel times, ensure maritime safety, and offer greater comfort for passengers.

The suspension of operations is expected to last 12 months. It is understood that the temporary suspension of the Phan Thiet - Phu Quy route is also aimed at focusing on the newly licensed Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route.

Previously, the Phu Quy Island vessel had also announced a temporary suspension of operations, with no clear date for resuming activities.

Thus, the sea route from Phan Thiet to Phu Quy currently has only 3 high-speed ferries still operating, including 1 Trung Trac ferry with a capacity of 598 passengers and 2 Superdong ferries with a capacity of 572 passengers.
