On July 16, the producer of the show Rookie of the Year officially announced that Ta Hoang Long will become the 13th contestant to appear in the Survival showcase on July 23. The decision was made after contestant Pham Van Tam (Toc Tien's team) withdrew due to personal reasons.
Previously, contestant Pham Van Tam was implicated in a love scandal. Amidst the noise, Pham Van Tam apologized to the individuals involved, the audience, the crew, the organizers and all members of the program because his story affected the general image.
He decided to withdraw from the top 13 after being given time by the organizers to reconsider everything.

Immediately after that, the organizers announced that Pham Van Tam had voluntarily left the program after a period of consideration. In the official announcement, the producer representative said that they always respect ethical values, personal responsibility and aim to develop young artists comprehensively in both talent and personality.
"We hope that the audience will continue to accompany, follow the rookies and contribute ideas to make the program more complete. Your timely feedback is a source of motivation for the all-round rookie to develop more sustainably and positively in the future," the producer representative shared.

After Pham Van Tam withdrew from the program, the Professional Council including Training & Development Director Hyuk Shin, performance coaches Ha Sunghyun, Oh Jihoon and A Top CEO Jang Jinyoung conducted an evaluation to select a replacement.
During the discussion, coach Oh Jihoon said that the vacant position requires high dancing skills, so contestant Van Khang, who has good dancing ability, is a suitable candidate. Coach Ha Sunghyun also agreed. However, director Hyuk Shin gave a long-term view and highly appreciated Ta Hoang Long's development potential.
After the discussion, the panel of experts unanimously chose Ta Hoang Long to return to the program, replacing Pham Van Tam as the main singer in the New Rookies lineup.
Ta Hoang Long will compete in the Survival showcase night - the survival stage , combining performance and direct competition. This is a completely new music event model - combining performance and competition, aiming to find the Rookie lineup to advance to the international competition stage through the decision of the professional council and all the audience present.
Survival showcase “Rookie All-rounder - Survival Stage” will take place on July 23 in Ho Chi Minh City.
“Rookie of the Year - Survival Stage” is a reality TV show, based on the international format “Show it all” and inheriting “Beautiful Sister Riding the Wind” and “Brother Overcoming a Thousand Challenges” .
The show has a multi-layered combination of music competition, reality TV and personal journey, opening up true stories about the arduous and fierce training journey to create an idol group in Vietnam.
In "Survival Stage", 30 rookies will undergo training according to international standards, applied to top boy bands such as EXO, Shinee... with leading experts in Korea and Vietnam.
The young talents will be trained in a closed environment for 3 months at the common house and must compete in periodic tests. Anyone who fails to meet the standards will be immediately eliminated from the program.
