On July 21, speaking with Thanh Nien reporters, the leader of Nam Dinh Provincial Police said that the Drug Crime Investigation Department (Nam Dinh Provincial Police) coordinated with the Drug Crime Prevention and Control Task Force No. 1 (Coast Guard Command) and the Ha Nam Ninh Customs Department to catch Vang A Dong red-handed in the act of "illegally buying and selling drugs".

Specifically, at 2:00 p.m. on July 15, in Xuan Hoa commune, Xuan Truong district ( Nam Dinh province), the authorities arrested Vang A Dong for illegally trading drugs, so they arrested him and seized 4 heroin cakes (about 1.5 kg), 1 motorbike, 3 cell phones, 3 million VND and some other evidence.

At the investigation agency, Vang A Dong confessed that he was released from prison in 2021 after 16 years of serving a sentence for illegally transporting drugs. Dong was aware that drugs were addictive and prohibited by law, but because he did not have a stable job, Dong continued to "go back to his old ways".

Accordingly, Vang A Dong connected, found buyers, and transported drugs from Dien Bien to the provinces to deliver to customers.

The case of illegal drug trafficking is being investigated and clarified by the functional forces of Nam Dinh province.
