Earlier, starting in mid-August, reporters from Dan Tri newspaper received complaints from many medical staff working at the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine.
They reported experiencing numerous irregularities in the unit's operations, such as: having many days' worth of salary deducted since the beginning of the year under the guise of charitable contributions; constantly organizing fee-based seminars; being assigned to unit programs but having their days off deducted; and having fees collected for practical training certificates from long-serving permanent employees...
In addition, the reporter also received a complaint from Ms. NB, an employee of the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department at the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine, stating that her social insurance benefits have been "suspended" for over two years because her legitimate resignation request has not been processed, causing her hardship.
Following the reporting of these shortcomings, Dan Tri newspaper sent a letter requesting that relevant authorities conduct a comprehensive inspection of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine.
On November 22, the Security Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security served the indictment decision and executed a search warrant at the home and workplace of Mr. Huynh Nguyen Loc, Director of the Institute of Traditional Medicine in Ho Chi Minh City.
On November 26th, the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health signed a decision to temporarily suspend the work of the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine, Mr. Huynh Nguyen Loc, because he is currently being prosecuted, according to the indictment decision of the Ministry of Public Security for the crime of "receiving bribes".
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has agreed to assign Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine, to be in charge of managing and operating the Institute, handling financial transactions, and performing the duties of the Director until a decision is made by the competent authority.
