Thunderstorms caused houses to collapse and many trees toppled in Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone.

According to the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of An Giang province, from approximately 6:00 PM to 6:20 PM on July 20th, there was very strong thunderstorm in the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone; wind speeds recorded at the Phu Quoc Meteorological Station reached level 10, with gusts up to level 12.

Trees in Bach Dang Park were broken and felled due to the thunderstorm.

Heavy rain and strong winds caused the collapse of a house in Rach Tram neighborhood, with estimated property damage of 45 million VND. The Command Center for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Phu Quoc Special Zone ( An Giang province) promptly dispatched forces to assist in relocating the affected household to a safe shelter.

The thunderstorm also knocked down many trees in areas and along 30th April Street, Hung Vuong Street, the Duong Dong bypass, Bach Dang Park, etc. The total estimated value of property damage is approximately 85 million VND.
