Young man suffered severe burns while stealing electric cable in industrial park

At around 0:38 a.m. on October 27, at Quang Chau Industrial Park (Bac Ninh province), an attempt to steal a power cable on a 22kV line failed. The thief was seriously injured by an electric discharge and was taken to the emergency room.

According to initial information, at the time of the incident, residents and security personnel in the industrial park discovered a young man with serious injuries, multiple burns on his body, and his clothes charred black.

Upon receiving the report, the Nenh Ward Police ( Bac Ninh Provincial Police) immediately arrived at the scene to investigate and conduct a forensic examination. Initially, the suspect confessed to climbing the power pole with the intention of stealing the electrical cable from the cutting machine on the 22kV power line, but due to climbing too close to the power line, he was electrocuted, fell, and suffered serious injuries.

The Nenh Ward Police are verifying the identity of the suspect, as he sustained serious injuries and had to be transferred to a hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities are investigating the incident.

The local power sector proactively addressed the issue, restoring stable power supply to businesses operating in the Quang Chau Industrial Park.
