Nguyen Hung Son High School is located on National Highway 61, a route with high traffic volume, posing a potential risk of traffic accidents. The school has two gates, with 80% of students using motorcycles or scooters for transportation, and the remainder being dropped off and picked up by their parents. Recognizing the importance of ensuring student safety, for the 2024-2025 school year, the school administration of Nguyen Hung Son High School has developed and implemented a "Safe School Gate" model.

The model is implemented through knowledge dissemination sessions, skills training, and practical driving lessons for students; teachers and students sign commitments to strictly adhere to the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety; and the launch and participation in the "Road Safety for Tomorrow's Smile" competition in 2025. Simultaneously, traffic police, the school's Youth Union, and teachers are stationed at the school gate during peak hours to regulate and guide parents to park in designated areas and to ensure students cross the road safely. The model helps build a safe and friendly traffic environment, reducing violations of traffic laws and regulations. It also fosters early awareness of traffic law compliance among students.

According to Ho Chi Dung, Vice Principal of Nguyen Hung Son High School, the school has recently organized training sessions on traffic safety for homeroom teachers, parents, and students; and implemented a commitment signing program to comply with regulations from the beginning of the school year. The awareness campaigns, educational activities, and competitions on understanding the Law on Road Traffic Safety have yielded positive results, helping students improve their awareness and compliance with traffic safety regulations. In the future, the school will continue to maintain and develop the "Traffic Safety Gate" model, considering it an effective solution for students, parents, and teachers to strictly adhere to regulations and build a civilized traffic lifestyle.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Thang Loi, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police, the unit regularly implements plans to disseminate information and provide training on traffic order and safety at each school, thereby raising awareness and compliance with the law among students. Commitment signing sessions and thematic activities have led to significant improvements in students' adherence to the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety. Traffic conditions in front of the school gates have improved considerably as teachers and students cooperate with the police force to manage traffic flow during peak hours, contributing to reduced congestion and accident risks. Parents and students also park more orderly, no longer obstructing traffic, helping to keep the school gate area clear and ensuring urban aesthetics.

Activities such as safe driving instruction, practical skills training, and traffic safety competitions help students learn how to handle unexpected situations, ensuring safety and civilized behavior when participating in traffic. Through the "Traffic Safety School Gate" model, the police, schools, parents, and students also enhance their collaborative responsibility through signed commitments and meetings. Parents become more aware of ensuring traffic safety when dropping off and picking up their children, contributing to a reduction in illegal parking that obstructs traffic and disrupts security and order in front of the school gate.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Thang Loi, in the following school years, the Traffic Police Department will strengthen traffic safety awareness campaigns in a diverse and engaging way, such as creating videos , infographics, dramatizations, and traffic situation simulations; organizing thematic campaigns on traffic order and safety linked to practical skills for students; conducting awareness campaigns during parent meetings and liaison groups; maintaining tripartite commitments between schools, parents, and students; and coordinating traffic flow management during peak hours. Simultaneously, they will increase inspections, reminders, and penalties for students and parents violating traffic order and safety regulations at school gates. In parallel, they will propose improvements to traffic infrastructure around schools, such as installing more "School Area" signs, speed bumps, and pedestrian crossings.

The implementation of the "Traffic Safety Gate" model at Nguyen Hung Son High School has yielded clear results: There is no longer traffic congestion or chaos at the beginning and end of school hours, contributing to the creation of a safe and friendly traffic environment. The model helps reduce traffic violations, fosters a traffic culture, and enhances students' awareness of traffic safety laws.
