(NLĐO) - Camera footage shows a man bringing a bucket of gasoline to set fire to a coffee shop due to a conflict with staff, resulting in 11 deaths.
On December 19th, Hanoi City Police are holding CVH (51 years old, residing in Dai Mach commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi) for investigation and prosecution regarding the act of setting fire to a coffee shop at 258 Pham Van Dong Street, Co Nhue 2 ward, Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi City.

Accordingly, at approximately 11 PM on December 18th, a large fire broke out at 258 Pham Van Dong Street, a three-story house with an attic that also served as a coffee shop. Upon receiving the report, the Hanoi City Police dispatched fire fighting forces to the scene to coordinate with local authorities and residents in firefighting, rescue, and relief efforts.
By 11:40 PM the same day, the fire was brought under control. Authorities guided and assisted in rescuing 7 people (5 of whom were in stable condition, and 2 were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment) and discovered 11 fatalities.
Based on initial verification, the police suspected the coffee shop had been set on fire and promptly launched a search for and arrest of the suspect. At approximately 0:00 on December 19th, the city police apprehended CVH.

Early on the morning of December 19th, the Hanoi City Police decided to initiate a murder investigation and prosecute CVH (51 years old, residing in Dai Mach commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi) for the act of setting fire to the coffee shop.
At the police station, CVH initially confessed that he went to the cafe to drink beer and then had a conflict with the staff, so he bought gasoline, poured it onto the first floor of the cafe (where there were many motorbikes), and set it on fire; when he saw the flames, he left.
According to the police, H. also had two previous convictions for robbery and theft.
