Soldier of Quang Tri Citadel in wheelchair visits Uncle Ho's hometown on National Day

(Dan Tri) - Nearly 90 years old, having gone through battles to protect the Fatherland with many wounds on his body, veteran and war invalid Pham Xuan Sinh was moved to tears when visiting Uncle Ho's hometown on Independence Day.

The National Day holiday on September 2nd this year lasts for 4 days. In recent days, the weather in Nghe An has not been favorable, but many tourists still choose Uncle Ho's hometown (Kim Lien commune, Nghe An) as their destination.

Mr. Hoang Tuan Ngoc (residing in Ha Long ward, Quang Ninh province) and his family planned to visit the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site - the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of National Day, September 2. "This is the first time my family and I have visited Uncle Ho's hometown on such a special occasion, I am extremely moved," Mr. Ngoc shared.

During this year's National Day holiday, Mr. Pham Nguyen Thanh (Thanh Vinh Ward, Nghe An) brought his parents to visit Uncle Ho's hometown. Mr. Pham Xuan Sinh (Thanh's father) is a war invalid who fought in many battlefields, including the 81-day and night battle to protect Quang Tri Citadel in 1972.

The nearly 90-year-old veteran, carrying many war scars, was moved when he arrived at the simple thatched house where President Ho Chi Minh spent his childhood years...

National Day September 2 is also a long break before the new school year begins, so Mr. Tran Thuong's family (Dai Dong commune, Nghe An) took their children to visit Uncle Ho's hometown. Mr. Thuong's wife bought uniforms for the whole family as a way to show their love for their homeland and country on this important day of the nation.

Mr. Thuong and his son took a souvenir photo under the grapefruit tree in front of Uncle Ho's family's house, where many years ago, he took a photo with his father (small photo).

"Not only my family, but also for many generations of Nghe An people and people from other places, President Ho Chi Minh's hometown is always one of the top destinations chosen on national holidays. This is also an opportunity for every Vietnamese person to express their infinite gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, the founder of Vietnam and leader of our people to fight against the enemy, building the independence and peace of today," Mr. Thuong confided.

Although the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site was severely affected by storm No. 5 (Kajiki), with the support of agencies, units and the efforts of staff, the relic site was able to complete the decoration items to welcome visitors.
