Woman dies after being rescued from Hoan Kiem Lake

Hoan Kiem Ward Police (Hanoi City) is coordinating with functional units to investigate and clarify the case of a woman who died after being rescued from Hoan Kiem Lake.

According to information from the Hoan Kiem Ward People's Committee ( Hanoi City), at around 7:00 AM on October 25th, several people exercising in the Hoan Kiem Lake area (opposite house number 9 Hang Khay) noticed a woman acting strangely while swimming in the lake, so they shouted for help.

Immediately afterwards, the Hoan Kiem Ward Police contacted the rescue team of Fire Prevention and Rescue Team 7 (Hanoi City Police) and the 115 Emergency Center for assistance in rescuing people.

During the rescue attempt, the woman did not return to shore but continued swimming towards the middle of the lake. Members of the Security and Order Team, under the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter, along with a foreign man, swam out to rescue the woman and brought her to shore in a state of undress.

Rescue workers and medical staff provided first aid at the scene, then transported the woman to Viet Duc Hospital for emergency treatment. However, according to information from the hospital, the victim did not survive.

The People's Committee of Hoan Kiem Ward has directed the Ward Police to coordinate with relevant agencies to conduct a scene investigation at the location where the incident occurred and investigate the cause; at the same time, verify the identity of the victim.
