According to the North Korean state news agency KCNA on March 16, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited a nearly completed housing construction site in the capital Pyongyang.

Accordingly, on March 15, Kim Jong Un inspected the construction site of 10,000 apartments in the Hwasong area of Pyongyang. The project is in phase 3 of a four-phase plan to build 40,000 apartments in the area.
During his inspection tour, Kim Jong Un emphasized: "This is an important step in enhancing the strategic function and status of the capital. This has immense practical significance in elevating Pyongyang's new era of prosperity to a higher level."
In 2021, North Korea announced plans to build 50,000 new apartments in Pyongyang over five years, and has completed 30,000 so far. Construction on the final 10,000 began last month.
Meanwhile, Kim Jong Un has instructed officials to prepare for the inauguration of 10,000 apartments before the Day of the Sun on April 15, the birthday of the late leader Kim Il Sung.
