From December 3 to 8, Nguyen An Ninh Digital Library Space cooperated with a number of units to organize a series of events "Rice civilization of the Mekong Delta" at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street and online on the website thuviennguyenanninh.vn. The opening ceremony took place at 9:00 a.m. on December 3 at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street.

The series of events “Rice civilization in the Mekong Delta” is a journey that takes readers to discover the fascinating and unique cultural features of the land and people of the South. With the main theme of rice and the development of agriculture in the Mekong Delta (MD) in the face of natural challenges and a journey of starting a business, developing agriculture in harmony with nature, opening up many new opportunities for the country's rice granary.

Not only recreating the journey of rice from the past to the present, the event is also an invitation for the young generation to join in fueling the fire, opening up a "new journey of reclamation" with knowledge, technology and creativity so that the Mekong Delta can continue to be a rice granary, a cultural granary and a source of pride in the future.

Held simultaneously on two platforms: directly at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street and online on the website thuviennguyenanninh.vn, the event series "Mekong Delta Rice Civilization" introduces two exhibition activities, displaying "Mekong Delta - Potential, challenges - development" and "Agricultural imprints of the Southern land from tradition to modernity".

Here, the Organizing Committee will display traditional agricultural tools and advanced technologies in agriculture, agricultural extension documents (paper books, videos , etc.) in agricultural cultivation; hybrid rice varieties and rice products of enterprises under the Vietnam Rice Industry Association; Mekong Delta boat model of Long Hau boat building village; paintings of southern birds by artist Dao Van Hoang.

Along with that, the series of events also brings 6 thematic talks with the participation of experts, agronomists, researchers and practical experience activities: "Mekong Delta River Civilization (at 9:00 a.m. on December 4); "Mid-season rice in the cultural life of Mekong Delta residents" (9:00 a.m. on December 5); "History, ecology, livelihoods and culture of the Mekong Delta" (2:00 p.m. on December 5); "Preserving and developing Vietnamese rice - the journey to prosperity" (9:00 a.m. on December 6); "Southern chivalry through the work Luc Van Tien " (9:00 a.m. on December 7).

The series of events “Mekong Delta Rice Civilization” is a socialized activity, spreading the message of connection and joint efforts from businesses, farmers, scientists , cultural and agricultural researchers... or from readers, those who love the Mekong Delta can join hands to preserve and promote the cultural and spiritual values ​​of the land.
