According to statistics, there are currently about 100 private high schools in the city. However, based on the results of the admissions assessment and other regulations, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has decided to allocate enrollment quotas to 85 private schools.
The total enrollment quota for these schools is 29,636 students. Of these, Nam Tu Liem district has the most private schools – 12, followed by Ha Dong with 10, Cau Giay with 8, and Bac Tu Liem with 7. These are all densely populated districts of the city.
Students can use this enrollment quota table to find out which private high schools are allowed to enroll 10th grade students for the 2024-2025 school year.
According to preliminary statistics from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the number of 9th-grade students in the city participating in the junior high school graduation recognition process for the 2023-2024 school year is approximately 133,000 (an increase of 4,000 students compared to the previous school year).
Among junior high school graduates, the percentage of students admitted to 10th grade in public schools this year is approximately 60%. The remaining students will have to choose to attend private high schools, vocational training centers, vocational schools, or colleges.
Thus, the upcoming entrance exam for 10th grade in public high schools in Hanoi is expected to result in approximately 81,200 students passing and being admitted to public schools, while the remaining 51,800 will fail and have to attend private or vocational schools.
