Two public schools and many private schools announced that they will consider high school transcripts for admission to the medical field. Some schools only require a 12th grade academic record of excellent or higher.

This year , Dai Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy will enroll 600 medical students, of which 120 will be considered based on academic records.

The school uses three combinations including B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology), D07 (Math, Chemistry, English) and B08 (Math, Biology, English). The admission score is the sum of the average score of 6 semesters of the three subjects and the priority score. The school adds 0.25-1 point to candidates who have excellent student awards at the provincial level or higher or have international foreign language certificates.

In addition, Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy considers 60 quotas with its own project. Candidates with IELTS certificate 6.5 or higher and excellent academic performance for 3 years; or students specializing in Math, Chemistry, Biology, with provincial encouragement award in one of these three subjects, excellent academic performance for 3 years can register for admission.

Hai Duong Medical Technical University also reserves the admission quota for the Medical major based on the combination of international language certificates and academic records. The condition is that candidates must have an IELTS certificate of 6.0 or TOEFL iBT of 60/120 points or higher, with excellent academic performance for 3 years, and an average score of 6 semesters in two subjects: Math - Chemistry, Math - Physics or Math - Biology of 8 or higher.

Phenikaa University (Hanoi) has not announced the quota for each major but said it will consider high school transcripts for admission to the Medical major, similar to last year. Admission scores are based on grade 11 and first semester grade 12 transcripts with subjects in the group.

To apply, candidates must have excellent 12th grade academic performance and a total average score of 24 or higher for all subjects in the group.

With the same conditions, Dai Nam University (Hanoi) and Van Lang University (HCMC) offer two ways to consider transcripts, including considering 11th grade and 12th grade semester 1 scores or calculating 12th grade scores separately. Meanwhile, Hanoi University of Business and Technology only considers 12th grade scores.

A number of other schools accept applications for admission to the medical field based on academic records if they have a good grade 12 grade or a graduation score of 8 or higher, such as Hong Bang International University (HCMC), Vo Truong Toan (Hau Giang), Phan Chau Trinh (Quang Nam). This is also the minimum requirement set by the Ministry of Education and Training for training programs in the health field.

Vo Truong Toan University also considers combining academic records with graduation exam scores. Candidates can choose one subject based on their exam scores and two subjects in a combination based on their grade 12, or grade 10, or 11 transcripts.

Top medical schools such as Hanoi Medical University and Ho Chi Minh City Medical University do not use academic records for admission. These schools only consider graduation exam scores, or combine exam scores with international language certificates.

The medical training program lasts 6 years. Tuition fees at schools currently range from several tens to several hundreds of millions of VND per year. For example, at Hanoi Medical University, the tuition fee is about 21-55 million, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy charges 41-77 million. The highest fee is for the Dentistry - Maxillofacial Department of Hong Bang International University with 250 million, the Vietnam - Germany Medical Program of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine - 209 million VND per year.
