In August, HDBank was the bank that increased the most its 3-month deposit interest rate, with an increase of 0.7%/year. Meanwhile, DongA Bank led the increase in 6-month deposit interest rate with an increase of 0.9%/year.
According to statistics, in August, 15 banks increased deposit interest rates , including: Agribank, Eximbank, HDBank, Sacombank, Saigonbank, TPBank, CB, VIB, DongA Bank, VPBank, Techcombank, VietBank,SHB , PVCombank and Nam A Bank.
Of which, Sacombank , VietBank, DongA Bank, Techcombank, Eximbank and HDBank are the banks that have increased interest rates twice.
Agribank is the only bank in the group of state-owned commercial banks that increased deposit interest rates by 0.2-0.3%/year for terms of 1-11 months.
Currently, the online mobilization interest rate at Agribank is 1.8%/year for a term of 1-2 months; 2.2%/year for a term of 3-5 months; 3.2%/year for a term of 6-11 months; 4.7%/year for a term of 12-18 months and 4.8%/year for a term of 24-36 months.
At some key terms, HDBank is the bank with the strongest interest rate increase at 3-month term , with an increase of 0.7%/year to 3.95%/year.
However, HDBank's deposit interest rate for this term is still not the highest when Eximbank and Nam A Bank are leading with interest rates of 4.3% and 4.1%/year respectively. CBBank, ABBank, BaoViet Bank and NCB are also listing interest rates of up to 4%/year for 3-month deposits.
The fluctuation in 3-month deposit interest rates at DongA Bank is also notable, with an increase of 0.6%/year to 3%/year.
For the 6-month term , DongA Bank leads the interest rate increase with an increase of 0.9%/year, up to 4.9%/year. Sacombank also sharply increased 0.8%/year to 4.9%/year for this term deposit.
However, leading in terms of highest mobilization interest rates for 6-month term are CBBank (5.55%/year) and NCB (5.35%/year).
The group of banks paying interest rates from 5%/year for 6-month term also includes: VietBank, BaoViet Bank, Eximbank, KienLongBank (5.2%/year); HDBank, BVBank (5.1%/year); Nam A Bank, SHB, VPBank, ABBank, PGBank and Bac A Bank (5%/year).
DongA Bank and Sacombank are the two banks that have increased interest rates the most for the 9-month term , by 0.7% and 0.6%/year respectively, both reaching 4.9%/year.
Currently, the highest 9-month term deposit interest rates belong to NCB (5.55%/year); CBBank, BVBank, ABBank (5.5%/year); BaoViet Bank (5.4%/year); KienLong Bank (5.3%/year); Nam A Bank and GPBank (5.2%/year); SHB and Bac A Bank (5.1%/year).
The group of banks listing interest rates of 5%/year for 9-month term deposits includes: VPBank, VietBank, PGBank, and OCB.
For 12-month deposit term , DongA Bank also led in interest rate increase in August with an increase of 0.8%/year, up to 5.3%/year. Sacombank increased by 0.5%/year, up to 5.4%/year and CBBank increased by 0.4%/year, up to 5.7%/year.
The highest 12-month term deposit interest rate belongs to ABBank (6%/year). Close to this interest rate is 5.8%/year at BaoViet Bank, BVBank and Saigonbank.
Currently, most banks maintain interest rates of 5%/year or higher for 12-month term deposits, except for the group of 4 state-owned commercial banks and a few banks such as SCB, ACB, SeABank,...
