Female teachers - pioneers of digital transformation

GD&TĐ - Digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence are creating a major turning point for education. Along with that change, female teachers - the overwhelming majority in educational institutions - are becoming the pioneering force.

The "fire keeper" of humanity

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, Principal of Tran Lam Primary School (Tran Lam Ward, Hung Yen ), in the era of digital transformation and artificial intelligence application, female teachers not only impart knowledge but also create the future.

Pioneers in innovating teaching methods, inspiring and keeping the passion for the profession alive in the age of technology, they are also lifelong learners, ready to adapt to the changes of the new era; at the same time, they are the bridge between human knowledge and children's souls, between the mindless data of machines and the human values of people.

While technology and artificial intelligence can help build lessons, grade, or compile data, only the heart and empathy of teachers, especially female teachers, can help the learning process become an emotional journey, nurture personality, and inspire love of knowledge in students.

Digital technology helps teachers reduce work pressure, balance between work and life, and open up a creative teaching environment. Lectures are presented through videos, interactive games or visual learning products, making the classroom more lively and students more interested. When female teachers confidently apply technology, they also inspire students to dare to step out of the stereotype that "technology is a male field", contributing to promoting gender equality in education .

According to Ms. Tran Thi Thuy - English teacher, Duc Hop High School (Hung Yen), digital technology and AI bring many clear opportunities for female teachers to develop themselves. Thanks to AI and open resource warehouses, teachers can quickly search for sample lectures and learning materials from all over the world. Online learning platforms and virtual seminars help teachers update modern educational trends without being limited by space and time.

What all female teachers agree on is that artificial intelligence cannot replace humans. AI can help prepare lessons, create questions, and evaluate students’ abilities, but it cannot understand children’s emotions, moods, or subtle vibrations during their learning process.

“AI is a tool, but teachers are the heart of education. We do not teach machines, but teach people, teach how to be human,” Ms. Tran Thi Thuy emphasized.

Let female teachers master technology

However, the journey of digital transformation for female teachers has never been easy. Ms. Tran Thi Thuy frankly admitted that many teachers, especially middle-aged ones, have limited digital skills and lack confidence in using technology tools. Many schools, especially in rural areas, have unsynchronized infrastructure, weak networks, and lack of equipment, making it difficult to implement digital teaching.

In addition, the rapid development of AI also brings new concerns: the risk of dependence on technology, the loss of traditional pedagogical skills or ethical issues in teaching. Many teachers have to face situations where students use AI to cheat, copy papers, forcing teachers to be more creative in testing and assessment. “The biggest challenge is how to balance technology and humanity; between support tools and the heart of the teaching profession,” Ms. Tran Thi Thuy expressed.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam believes that the difficulty of female teachers lies in the “dual role” between work and family. Women are both teachers, mothers, and wives, so the time for learning and researching new technology is very limited. Having to self-study and test new software and platforms requires a lot of effort.

Ms. Pham Thi Huong - Vice Principal of Le Hong Phong Primary School (Thai Binh Ward, Hung Yen) emphasized the mindset of being ready to change and constantly learn. It is not just knowing how to use technology or mastering a few software, but also daring to try, daring to learn, being open to new things and maintaining a humanistic spirit. AI can change the way of teaching, but it is the teachers who decide how students learn.

With that spirit, many female teachers have boldly experimented and applied technology to teaching and management practices. Ms. Pham Thi Huong said that the school always encourages teachers to use tools such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Canva, Kahoot, Quizizz or ClassPoint to design vivid lessons. AI is also applied to management and connecting with parents. Using electronic report cards, Edoc system to review plans, learning reports... management becomes much more transparent and flexible.

Although individual efforts are very important, for female teachers to promote their role in the digital age, support from schools and the education sector is the decisive factor.

According to teachers, first of all, it is necessary to train and foster digital skills and AI capacity regularly and practically. Training courses should go from basic to advanced, with specific topics for female teachers, helping them become more confident and overcome psychological barriers. In addition, forming a "digital teacher club", or a professional learning community in the school will be an effective direction. Regarding infrastructure, it is necessary to invest synchronously in equipment, Internet connection, copyrighted software, and digital learning materials warehouses integrated with AI. This is a basic condition for teachers, especially in rural and mountainous areas, to have equal access to technology as in urban areas.

In addition, it is necessary to build a friendly and flexible working environment for female teachers; reduce administrative procedures, create conditions for them to study, research, and balance between career and family. Timely reward and honor policies for teachers who are pioneers in applying technology will create motivation to spread the spirit of innovation throughout the industry.

According to Ms. Pham Thi Huong, the education sector should strengthen cooperation with technology enterprises and international organizations to update new trends, organize seminars and forums on digital transformation and gender equality in education. When exposed to an international environment, female teachers not only learn skills but also confidently assert their position.

What sets a teacher apart is emotional intelligence, the ability to inspire, and a love for the profession – qualities that women have a special advantage in. When these qualities are combined with technological thinking and the ability to adapt quickly, female teachers will become the pioneering force leading Vietnamese education into a new era.
