At the school proposed to award the Second Class Labor Medal

After 34 years of striving for development and growth, Quài Cang Secondary School in Tuần Giáo district (Điện Biên province) has gradually affirmed its position and become a shining example of the district's education and training sector.

In a conversation with Mr. Nguyen Phu Tan, the school principal, he shared: "Achieving the results we have today is the culmination of a long process of effort, striving, and overcoming all difficulties by the teaching staff and generations of students of the school."

Recognizing that improving the quality of education is the top priority, the school's management always focuses on developing the capabilities and qualifications of its teaching staff, reinforcing students' self-awareness and determination to excel in their studies. The school's management, along with various organizations and heads of subject departments, regularly monitor, supervise, and conduct surprise and periodic inspections of the school's thematic programs. Teachers actively participate in innovative teaching methods, effectively implementing school-level and cluster-level thematic programs, and resolving difficulties and obstacles in the innovation of teaching methods and the use of teaching equipment.

In addition to teaching textbook knowledge, the school regularly supplements students' learning with practical experience through field trips.

With the motto "Quality over quantity," the school has directed the increased application of active teaching methods and techniques, focusing on students, and innovating professional development activities towards lesson study. Teachers are encouraged to write research papers and initiatives on management and teaching, many of which have been recognized at the grassroots level. In each school year, the school organizes demonstration lessons to help teachers improve their professional skills. At the same time, teachers are encouraged to actively apply information technology to teaching; and attention is paid to training capable teachers to become excellent teachers.

Currently, 100% of the school's staff, including teachers and employees, have qualifications that meet or exceed the required standards, fulfilling the demands of comprehensive educational reform. Many teachers and staff members possess strong professional skills and are key educators at the district and provincial levels.

This is the school's annual teacher quality assessment session.

The school's educational quality has improved significantly: The student enrollment rate reaches 100% each year, with 17 classes in the 2023-2024 school year, an increase of 2 classes compared to the previous year; the current number of students is 629/620, achieving 101.5% of the planned target. The percentage of students with good and excellent grades is high, while the percentage of students with poor grades is 0% annually.

The school's high-quality education has achieved outstanding results. In the 2022-2023 school year, in the provincial-level cultural subject competitions, 9 out of 11 participating students won awards, representing a rate of 81.8%, a significant increase compared to the 2021-2022 school year (1% difference), including 2 first prizes. In the 2023-2024 school year, out of 11 participating students, 9 won awards, including 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and 3 consolation prizes.

Cultural and sports activities are always given attention and comprehensively developed by the school.

Over the years, Quài Cang Secondary School has achieved many impressive and proud accomplishments. For many consecutive school years, the school has been recognized as an Outstanding Labor Collective, receiving Certificates of Merit and Excellent Emulation Flags from the Ministry of Education and Training and the Provincial People's Committee. In the 2016-2017 school year, the school was awarded an Excellent Emulation Flag by the Ministry of Education and Training for being a "Leading unit in the movement of innovation in teaching and learning". In the 2014-2015 academic year, the school was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as meeting national standards and was also recognized and certified by the Department of Education and Training as an educational institution achieving Level 3 quality education. Notably, in the 2017-2018 academic year, the school was honored to receive the Third-Class Labor Medal from the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for its outstanding achievements in education and training from the 2013-2014 to the 2017-2018 academic years, contributing to the building of Socialism and the defense of the Fatherland.

In the emulation movement, for five consecutive years from the 2019-2020 school year to the 2023-2024 school year, the school achieved the following emulation titles: "Advanced Labor Collective"; "Excellent Labor Collective"; and for four years, it received the "Excellent Emulation Flag" title from the People's Committee of Dien Bien province.

Every teacher at the school serves as a role model for students to learn from and emulate.

The achievements of the teachers and students of Quài Cang Secondary School in recent years have built trust among the Party committee, government, parents, and students in this school with many years of development. In particular, with the school achieving excellent results in the emulation campaign for five consecutive years, the school is eligible to be nominated for the Second Class Labor Medal by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
