AP reported that US President Donald Trump said on December 7 that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky was "not ready" to sign a peace proposal drafted by the US to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
President Trump expressed disappointment with leader Zelensky after US and Ukrainian representatives ended three days of talks on December 6 to narrow differences over the US peace proposal.

"I'm a little disappointed that President Zelensky hasn't read the peace proposal yet. The Ukrainian people support it, but he doesn't. I believe Russia agrees with it, but I'm not sure Zelensky does. He's not ready," President Trump said.
For his part, President Zelensky said he had an important phone call with US officials participating in negotiations with the Ukrainian delegation in Florida.
"Ukraine is determined to continue good-faith cooperation with the US side to achieve real peace," the Ukrainian leader wrote on social media.
Mr Trump's criticism of Ukrainian leader Zelensky came as Russia on December 7 welcomed the new US national security strategy.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the newly released strategy outlined the administration's core foreign policy interests, which largely aligned with Moscow's vision.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has not publicly expressed support for the White House peace plan, saying last week that some provisions in the proposal were unworkable, although the original draft was seen as biased toward Moscow , AP reported.
