Global climate change as well as the need for environmental protection lead to increasingly stringent standards on emissions, improving the efficiency of resource use and energy saving; at the same time, opening up opportunities to develop clean energy sources to replace traditional energy, with the pressure from climate change on the operations of the Oil and Gas industry along with the energy transition process taking place increasingly quickly and strongly globally".
General view of the training course.
At the course, more than 40 students were introduced to the Overview and policies on climate change; Responsibilities and obligations of units related to climate change adaptation and greenhouse gas inventory; Guidelines for greenhouse gas inventory for large greenhouse gas emitters; Identification and establishment of actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; Climate change adaptation and the journey towards the Net Zero target of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.
Students discuss at the training course.
The course helped trainees understand the contents related to the Government's regulations on greenhouse gas emissions for Vietnamese enterprises; practice greenhouse gas inventory methods together and discuss activities/actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at units/corporations; share about climate change adaptation plans and the journey towards the Net Zero goal of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.
The teaching staff participated in the training course.
Training programs with content related to sustainable development, greenhouse gas emission reduction, etc. have demonstrated the efforts of the Group's leaders and member units in the long-term process, contributing significantly to the implementation of the Vietnamese Government's commitment at COP26 in the goal of reducing net emissions to "0" by 2050; demonstrating the companionship of a national Energy Industry Group in accompanying the Government in successfully implementing Vietnam's energy transition.
