Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan meets with Vice President of Ecuador

On October 27, at the Presidential Palace, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with Vice President of the Republic of Ecuador Maria Jose Pinto Gonzalez Artigas on the occasion of attending the opening ceremony of the Hanoi Convention.

On October 27, at the Presidential Palace, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with Vice President of the Republic of Ecuador Maria Jose Pinto Gonzalez Artigas on the occasion of attending the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime ( Hanoi Convention) in Hanoi.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan was pleased to welcome Ms. Maria Jose Pinto Gonzalez Artigas to Vietnam for the first time as Vice President of Ecuador and to lead a high-ranking delegation of Ecuador to attend this important event, demonstrating Ecuador's determination to join hands with the international community to fight cybercrime and transnational crime, while contributing to further deepening bilateral relations on the occasion of the two countries' 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations (January 1, 1980 - January 1, 2025).

At the meeting, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan expressed her appreciation for the Ecuadorian people's support and solidarity for Vietnam during the past years of fighting for national liberation and reunification as well as in the current cause of national construction and development; affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to the good friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Ecuador and Vietnam's determination to continue to deepen the cooperation between the two countries, in a practical and effective manner, for the benefit of the people and the common development of both countries.

The Vice President of Ecuador expressed his joy at his first visit to Vietnam; congratulated Vietnam on successfully hosting the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention; and affirmed that Vietnam has demonstrated its leadership role and made active contributions in the fight against cybercrime on a global scale.

The Vice President of Ecuador expressed his impression of Vietnam's dynamic development and wished to further strengthen and develop relations on bilateral and multilateral levels within the overall policy of expanding relations with the Asia-Pacific region.

The two sides shared the potential for cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, agriculture, telecommunications, defense, security, education, culture and sports, as well as the need to exchange experiences in areas of mutual interest, including the protection of the rights of women and children.

The two sides agreed to increase delegation exchanges and high-level contacts between the two countries, continue to promote the effectiveness, regularity and flexibility of existing political and economic cooperation mechanisms; encourage trade and investment promotion activities, connect businesses, and implement cooperation in each side's areas of strength.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan asked Ecuador to soon recognize Vietnam as a market economy and asked the Ecuadorian Government to encourage and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to cooperate and invest in Ecuador, especially in the fields of telecommunications, agriculture, and oil and gas.

The two sides agreed that in the context of many international changes, the two countries need to increase exchanges, coordination and mutual support at international organizations and multilateral forums, promote the role of international law and multilateralism, for peace, stability, cooperation and prosperity in the two regions and the world.

On this occasion, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan conveyed President Luong Cuong's invitation to visit Vietnam to Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa.

Vice President Maria Jose Pinto Gonzalez Artigas respectfully invited Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan to visit Ecuador. The Vice President expressed her thanks and suggested that the two sides make arrangements through diplomatic channels./.
