Sharing about the Association's achievements, Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs, said that the Association is a social organization established according to Decision No. 1081 QD-BNV dated September 17, 2010, of the Minister of Home Affairs, with the motto and purpose of "Honoring and showing gratitude to heroic martyrs and their families; supporting families of martyrs in accessing and implementing the policies and regulations of the Party and the State; collecting information and searching for the remains of martyrs that are still missing or unidentified through evidence and DNA testing; participating in research and proposing to state management agencies policies and solutions for implementing policies and regulations for martyrs and their families." Thanks to the profound attention of the Party and State leaders, central and local ministries, departments, and agencies, the Association's organization has continuously developed over the past 15 years, now comprising 21 provincial and city-level associations and branches, more than 96 district-level branches and equivalents (data before the merger of provincial and city levels and the implementation of the two-tiered government system), and nearly 7,000 members nationwide. The Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs emphasized that honoring martyrs is a long-term task of the entire Party and people, and a mission of the Association, with the motto "Dedication, compassion, and effectiveness" as a guiding principle for all activities.

The Association has regularly organized social mobilization efforts, creating financial resources to support families of martyrs facing particularly difficult circumstances. As of the end of June 2025, the Association had donated nearly 1,200 houses of gratitude, upgraded over 120 houses, donated over 3,100 savings accounts, awarded 880 scholarships to underprivileged children and grandchildren of martyrs, donated 250 wheelchairs, nearly 600 bicycles, and over 64,700 gifts to families of martyrs, and provided care for over 100 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in all provinces and cities nationwide.
