Central Newspaper reporter in Hoa Binh connects to donate "Bridge of Love"

The bridge was built and donated through a fundraising effort by a member of the Central Newspaper Journalists Club in Hoa Binh, who works at the Lao Dong Newspaper.

Central Newspaper reporter in Hoa Binh connects and strengthens the bridge of love (Figure 1). — The delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the bridge as a gift to the teachers, students, and people of the mountainous commune.

Ban Moc, Nanh Nghe commune, is the highest-altitude commune in Hoa Binh province. Located nearly 100km from the center of Da Bac district, Ban Moc is surrounded by the Kham stream. In 2017, the Ban Moc bridge was built by the local authorities and inaugurated just two months before being swept away by a flood.

Since then, local people going to work in the fields and nearly 150 students have had to wade across the Kham stream every day, facing life-threatening dangers during the cold winter and floods during the rainy season.

Understanding the situation, a reporter from the Lao Dong newspaper in Hoa Binh wrote an article reflecting on the issue and appealing for help. Following the article, Tien Phong Plastic Joint Stock Company conducted a survey and developed a plan to build a sturdy bridge worth over 1.7 billion VND for the people of Moc village.

At the bridge inauguration and handover ceremony, Mr. Tran Ngoc Bao – Deputy General Director of Tien Phong Youth Plastic Joint Stock Company shared: the Suoi Kham bridge is the 115th "Bridge of Love" that the company's staff and employees have donated to localities, and this is the second bridge in Hoa Binh province.

The Ban Moc Bridge, costing over 1.7 billion VND, is 30m long, 3.5m wide, and has a load capacity of 7 tons. Along with 70m of concrete roads at both ends, it has become a sturdy transportation route, bringing about significant changes to the lives of people in the area. The bridge is also a gift to the teachers and 149 students on their journey towards the future.
