Quang Nam opens two bridges, eliminating the scene of ferrying people across Thu Bon and Vu Gia rivers

The opening of Song Thu Bridge and An Binh Bridge will completely eliminate the use of boats and ferries, which pose many potential traffic safety risks, especially during the rainy season.

On the morning of March 23, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province organized the technical opening of Song Thu bridge and An Binh bridge across Thu Bon river and Vu Gia river.

Song Thu Bridge and An Binh Bridge are two key traffic works, belonging to two projects connecting important traffic axes of Quang Nam province from National Highway 14H to Highway 609C and from Highway 609C to National Highway 14B.

Accordingly, the road project connecting National Highway 14H to Provincial Road 609C has a total investment of more than 378 billion VND from the Quang Nam provincial budget.

On the route, there is a 669m long Thu River bridge project across Thu Bon River, playing the role of connecting the traffic corridor between Duy Xuyen district and Dai Loc district.

The project connecting DT609C to QL14B has a total investment of 550 billion VND. An Binh Bridge on the route is more than 1,060m long, crossing the Vu Gia River.

Song Thu Bridge connects Duy Xuyen and Dai Loc districts, creating new momentum for local economic development.

Both projects are invested by the Quang Nam Transport Construction Project Management Board.

The Thu River Bridge and An Binh Bridge, when put into operation, will be a fundamental and sustainable solution to overcome the geographical separation, completely eliminating the form of traveling by boat, which has many potential risks of traffic safety, especially during the rainy season. People can feel secure in traveling, producing and trading.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, said that Song Thu bridge and An Binh bridge not only help connect the communes of Tay Duy Xuyen and Dai Loc but also shorten the travel distance, promote tourism development... This is not only a traffic project but also a new driving force for development.

The Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee also requested localities to completely resolve site clearance issues; investors and contractors to speed up the construction progress of the remaining items for acceptance and put the project into operation according to regulations.
