Quang Ngai: Removing obstacles on the Quang Ngai

Contractors are speeding up the construction progress of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway Project.

The North-South Expressway project, Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section, is 88 km long, with a total investment of more than VND 20,400 billion, passing through 60.3 km of Quang Ngai province and 27.7 km of Gia Lai province.

The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section project passing through Quang Ngai province has completed about 80% of the volume, striving to basically complete it by September 2025.

According to the report of the Quang Ngai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board on the locations of problems in site clearance, out of a total of 33 locations proposed by the construction contractor (18 additional locations), from July 15 to now, the province has resolved 21 locations, with 12 remaining.

Regarding the site clearance work for the Rest Stop (Km16+620), up to now, the People's Committee of Dinh Cuong commune has approved 2 plans for 9.57 hectares; the construction contractor has approached the site and started construction on 7.03/12.12 hectares, reaching 58%.

Regarding the site clearance work, the adjusted and supplemented area has a total area of 28.37 hectares; up to now, the approved plan is 20.53 hectares, reaching 72% and the site has been handed over is 21.87 hectares, reaching 77%.

According to the representative of the construction unit, the project is currently facing some obstacles, due to the damage to people's houses during the construction process, and people in some localities are obstructing the construction. The investor and contractor commit that all impacts from the project construction that damage people's houses will be counted, calculated, and compensated according to regulations.

Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Sam said that in order to ensure the overall progress, in the coming time, investors and contractors must strictly implement the direction of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in Official Dispatch 765/UBND-CNXD. At the same time, there must be a written commitment on the time to carry out inventory, confirmation, appraisal, and compensation payment for damages to houses and structures of organizations and individuals affected by the construction.

In addition, the Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, sectors and localities to actively coordinate to resolve difficulties and problems related to site clearance for the project.

The People's Committees of communes and wards coordinate with investors to conduct dialogues, mobilize people to agree, and hand over the site to the project construction unit. Any arising issues must be promptly reported to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and direction; in particular, it is important to ensure security and order, and not affect the project's construction progress.

The Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section project is a national key project, of special significance in terms of infrastructure development, trade and investment attraction of the province.

Therefore, relevant departments, branches, localities and units need to focus highly, coordinate closely, and thoroughly handle existing problems and obstacles; promote all resources to ensure the completion of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway within the time required by the Government, the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Construction.
