Ms. La Thi Thuy, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Long province, said: Regarding the network of educational institutions, the entire province currently has more than 1,400 educational institutions from preschool to high school and continuing education. Among them:
Early childhood education comprises 417 schools (277 public kindergartens, 96 public preschools, and 44 private preschools).
Primary education comprises 455 public schools. Lower secondary education comprises 312 schools, including 301 public lower secondary schools, 10 public primary-lower secondary schools, and 1 private primary-lower secondary school.
The secondary education system comprises 106 schools, including: 4 combined secondary and high schools, 2 combined secondary and high schools for ethnic minorities, 1 combined high school for ethnic minorities, and 1 private combined primary, secondary, and high school.
There are 3 continuing education centers, 18 vocational education and continuing education centers at the district and city levels; and 2 secondary schools.
Regarding the workforce: The total number of administrators, teachers, and staff in the entire education sector reaches 41,472 people. This is an enormous human resource, a key factor in improving the quality of education.
Regarding higher education and vocational training: The (new) Vinh Long province has many reputable universities and colleges such as Tra Vinh University, Vinh Long University, Vinh Long University of Technology and Education, and other colleges. This creates a complete educational ecosystem capable of training high-quality human resources locally, serving the socio-economic development of the locality and the region.
