Speaking at the launch ceremony, the Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Fukuoka, Japan, Vu Chi Mai, said that every Lunar New Year, "Spring in the Homeland" is the largest annual program of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, dedicated to the community of more than 6 million Vietnamese people living, studying, and working in over 130 countries and territories.

In recent years, the Vietnamese community in Fukuoka, Japan, has successfully organized many large-scale events such as: the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Beauty Pageant; the Fukuoka Ao Dai Fashion Week; and set two global records for Vietnamese people: the event with the largest number of Vietnamese expatriates and foreigners wearing Ao Dai participating in forming a map of Vietnam; and the festival for overseas Vietnamese with the most diverse series of activities connecting the expatriate community and celebrating the traditional Lunar New Year... The "Spring in the Homeland" festival was also highly appreciated by the government, people, and the foreign community in Japan, and it was also the Lunar New Year event organized on the largest scale and with the largest number of participants in Japan.

"The 'Homeland Spring Festival 2025' in Japan is a continuation of the success of this series of programs. Through this event, we hope to promote the image of Vietnam and its people integrating into the world , building the image and position of the Vietnamese community as united and developing in Japan in particular and globally in general," Ms. Vu Chi Mai emphasized.

At the launch ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, Nguyen Manh Dong, shared: "The Vietnamese community in Japan participating in the 2025 Homeland Spring Festival is also the creator and beneficiary of the spiritual values. Each individual will be a cultural ambassador, a bridge of friendship between Vietnam and Japan. I believe that the 2025 Homeland Spring Festival will continue to attract a large number of Vietnamese people in Japan and international friends to participate. This will be a series of activities promoting the beauty of Vietnamese women, the traditional cultural values ​​of Vietnam, a country that loves peace, harmony, and friendliness."

Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, Nguyen Manh Dong, delivered a speech at the launch ceremony.

The festival is scheduled to take place from January 4-5, 2025 in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, and conclude in Fukuoka, Japan, from January 10-12, 2025. The festival will feature booths showcasing Vietnamese handicrafts, consumer goods, tourism, and culture; as well as impressive performances by popular Vietnamese artists, singers, and actors.

The highlight of the festival is the two competitions, "Miss Culture and Friendship International 2025" and "International Child Supermodel 2025," held in Japan.

The "Miss Culture and Friendship International 2025" competition is organized for Vietnamese women worldwide, including Vietnamese women living, studying, and working in Japan. The competition not only celebrates beauty but also emphasizes understanding, cultural connection, and friendship between nations. It also aims to raise awareness of "virtue, intellect, physical fitness, and beauty," encouraging Vietnamese women to actively study, train, participate in social and charitable activities, cultivate compassion and tolerance, love their homeland, and share and help the poor and children from disadvantaged families.

The "International Junior Supermodel 2025" competition will not only be a children's modeling contest but also a forum for comprehensive education and development for young children, contributing to building a generation of confident, creative, and socially responsible young Vietnamese people both domestically and internationally. The competition aims to: discover and nurture young talents; encourage self-confidence and creativity; provide holistic education and development; build and connect friendships with international peers; and encourage social activities and enhance a sense of community responsibility.

The "Miss Culture & Friendship International 2025" and "International Junior Supermodel 2025" competitions in Japan will take place from July 17, 2024 to January 24, 2025. Miss Earth 2018 Phuong Khanh and 4th Runner-up Miss Grand Vietnam 2022 Mai Ngo will be the ambassadors for this year's program.
