Supermodel Ha Anh: "Ky Duyen has a smart strategy for using foreign languages"

(Dan Tri) - Supermodel Ha Anh believes that Ky Duyen has grasped her strengths and weaknesses to fully develop her abilities in the international arena.

Recently, a clip of supermodel Ha Anh sharing about Miss Ky Duyen's use of English at Miss Universe 2024 attracted attention.

In the clip, the supermodel said that the Vietnamese representative's use of Vietnamese in the contest was not really effective, because the contest requires contestants to express themselves during the contest and private interviews, and Vietnamese should only be used in the final round of the contest.

This clip has sparked much debate on beauty forums. Some people think that the supermodel is trying to "put down" Miss Ky Duyen's foreign language skills.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Ha Anh said that the above clip did not fully convey the meaning she wanted to convey, so it caused unnecessary misunderstandings.

Speaking more clearly about her comments for Ky Duyen, supermodel Ha Anh said that Ky Duyen clearly understood her limitations and chose to speak in her mother tongue to ensure a confident demeanor and the most accurate information was conveyed. The supermodel emphasized that this was a smart strategy of Miss Ky Duyen.

Ha Anh said: "However, I know that Ky Duyen can still communicate basically with the organizers and other contestants in English. Therefore, the recognition of a friendly and beautiful Vietnamese representative is completely possible. If only Vietnamese audiences were less strict in their judgment, I think Ky Duyen would be able to confidently develop her foreign language skills."

Supermodel Ha Anh believes that English is just a means of communication, speaking correctly will be better but it is not as important as speaking confidently. The supermodel advises Ky Duyen to confidently express herself, make friends and not be shy, because most of the other representatives are not native English speakers.

The supermodel born in 1982 hopes the audience will support Ky Duyen in this matter.

Supermodel Ha Anh revealed that when competing in Miss Universe Vietnam 2024, Ky Duyen expressed her desire to meet her to share more experiences, but because work conditions on both sides did not allow it, both of them missed the appointment.

"Because Ky Duyen is far away and her competition schedule is very busy, I don't dare give any advice. I just hope she stays healthy, maintains her form, and stands firm in front of public opinion so that she can shine more and more confidently," Ha Anh confided.
