Third-year pedagogical students still haven't received living allowance, school says 'waiting'

Reflecting to Tuoi Tre Online , some students of the Pedagogy Department of Saigon University said that they are currently 3rd year students, eligible for the school's policy. However, up to now, they have not received any monthly living expenses support.

"This causes great financial difficulties, affecting students' lives and studies," said a student.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , a representative of Saigon University said that third-year pedagogical students are being trained according to social needs. Currently, the records of this group of students, including a commitment to serve the education sector, transcripts and related documents, have been sent by the school to the Department of Finance and the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City in mid-September.

The school is also waiting for these agencies to disburse. When the school receives the disbursement, it will pay the students.

According to regulations, teacher training students are supported by the State with tuition fees equal to the tuition fees of the teacher training institution where they study, and are supported with 3.63 million VND/month to cover living expenses during their time studying at school.

The period of support for tuition and living expenses is determined based on the actual number of months of study at school as prescribed, but not more than 10 months/school year.

Funds to support tuition fees and living expenses for pedagogical students are allocated in the annual state budget estimates for education and training at localities, ministries and branches.
