This morning (September 23rd), TC Motor officially launched the Skoda automotive brand in Vietnam, simultaneously introducing the Kodiaq and Karoq, two popular SUV models imported directly from Europe. This marks an important milestone, opening a new chapter for the Skoda brand in the Vietnamese market.
With nearly 130 years of history and development, Skoda is one of the oldest automotive brands in the world , boasting numerous achievements and prestigious awards for design, performance, and safety. Skoda is currently a brand owned by the Volkswagen Group, one of the world's largest automotive conglomerates.
In 2022, TC Motor and Skoda signed a cooperation agreement for technology transfer and exclusive distribution of Skoda passenger cars, marking a significant milestone in TC Motor's official entry into the Vietnamese market. With a philosophy of always being a reliable companion in exploring the world, Skoda is sure to bring many new and better things to its customers.
Skoda Karoq - youthful and dynamic
The Skoda Karoq is a pioneering product in Skoda's all-new generation of SUVs brought to the Vietnamese market. The model is highly regarded for its durability, powerful performance, and premium features, including luxury and safety.

[/caption]The design of the vehicle is inspired by Bohemian glass art. The crystal-like cuts of the Full-LED Matrix headlights and eight light strips resembling 'eyelashes' create a unique lighting effect. The new design makes the Karoq look powerful and full of confidence to explore the journey ahead. In addition, the advanced Full-LED Matrix headlights automatically adjust the direction and intensity of the light, making it easier to see and increasing safety while driving.
The front of the car features aerodynamic air intakes, a hexagonal grille, and a front bumper with black crystal-like plastic trim, giving it a sporty and powerful look. The body is highlighted by 18-inch sporty alloy wheels, embossed lines, roof rails, and a rear spoiler, resulting in a drag coefficient of 0.3Cd. The rear boasts a full-LED taillight system with a large Skoda logo, adding a distinctive touch to the Karoq.
The vehicle measures 4,390 mm in length, 1,603 mm in height, and 1,841 mm in width. Ground clearance is 164 mm, wheelbase is 2,630 mm, with an approach angle of 18.3 degrees and a departure angle of 19.4 degrees, making the car agile on various terrains.
The interior space is inspiring, creating comfort from the first glance and touch, harmoniously designed to complement the dynamic exterior, and equipped with numerous smart amenities and modern technologies. The Virtual Cockpit digital display and 8-inch infotainment screen, along with 8 premium speakers and LED Ambient Lighting, evoke a range of emotions for both driver and passengers. The panoramic sunroof combined with sunshades adds a touch of luxury and sophistication to the interior, making your journey even more special.
The Climatronic automatic climate control system offers dual-zone climate control, allowing you to set two automatic temperature comfort zones in the interior: a driver zone and a front passenger zone. The available temperature range in each zone is 16–29.5°C. The second row of seats has air vents. The Air Care system automatically switches to recirculation mode, filtering the air as soon as sensors detect air pollution both inside and outside the vehicle.
The seats are ergonomically designed, upholstered in premium leather, and feature 8-way power adjustment and 3-position memory. The cargo space can be adjusted from 521 liters to 1,630 liters (when the second row seats are folded down), ensuring comfortable journeys for both the driver and passengers.
The Skoda Karoq is equipped with a 1.4 TSI Turbo engine, producing a maximum power of 150 horsepower and a maximum torque of 250 Nm in the 1,500-3,500 rpm range. The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 9.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 201 km/h. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, ensuring smooth driving and fuel efficiency. Additionally, the Karoq features four different driving modes and paddle shifters on the steering wheel, catering to a wide range of driving needs.
The vehicle is equipped with many advanced safety features such as 7 airbags, front and rear sensors, adaptive headlights, blind spot and rear collision warning, tire pressure monitoring system, driver distraction warning, etc.
The Skoda Karoq is currently available in Vietnam in two versions: Ambition and Style, along with nine color options.
Skoda Kodiaq - elegant and stylish
The Kodiaq is a large, 7-seater SUV, the pride of Skoda, embodying all the qualities Skoda wants to offer its customers. Taking its name from the robustness of the largest living brown bear, the Kodiak, the Skoda Kodiaq already conveys a sense of strength and power right from its name.
All the design lines of the Skoda Kodiaq are sharp, decisive, and clean. With its three-dimensional grille and striking pair of Full-LED Matrix headlights with a crystal-like structure, the body lines combined with Skoda's signature C-shaped taillights, the Kodiaq is an invitation to explore new roads.
The vehicle measures 4,697mm in length, 1,681mm in height, and 1,882mm in width. Ground clearance is 192mm, wheelbase is 2,791mm, with an approach angle of 19 degrees and a departure angle of 15.1 degrees. Additionally, the Kodiaq is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels featuring a sporty and powerful design.
The interior space of the vehicle offers luxury, comfort, and the true essence of a large SUV. With a cargo volume ranging from 720 liters to 2,065 liters (when the two rear rows of seats are folded down), the 8-way power adjustable front seats include a 3-position memory function. The vehicle is equipped with a 3-zone independent climate control system, providing customers with a class-leading comfortable interior space. The features, based on the philosophy of "Simple yet smart," further demonstrate that the Skoda Kodiaq is a practical and convenient vehicle for daily life and family trips.

[/caption]The Skoda Kodiaq is equipped with a 12.15-inch information display screen and an 8-inch central entertainment screen with various interface customizations and display modes, making it easy for the driver to control and operate the vehicle. The entertainment system connects to 8 premium speakers throughout the car, providing a truly high-quality experience.
The Kodiaq is equipped with a 2.0 TSI Turbo engine producing a maximum power of 180 horsepower and a maximum torque of 320 Nm in the 1,400 - 3,940 rpm range. The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 207 km/h. This engine version comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and a multi-mode 4x4 drivetrain, allowing the vehicle to confidently conquer any terrain.
Additionally, the Kodiaq also comes with a 1.4 TSI Turbo engine, producing a maximum power of 150 horsepower and a maximum torque of 250 Nm in the 1,500 - 3,500 rpm range. This engine is paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Kodiaq is also equipped with many advanced safety and driver assistance systems: a 360-degree surround-view camera system with multiple display modes, hill descent control, a 7-airbag system with a function to deactivate the passenger side when there are no passengers, and other advanced safety features similar to those on the Karoq model.
Kodiaq was also introduced in Vietnam with two versions, Ambition and Style, and nine color options.
The renowned MQB ( Modularer QuerBaukasten ) chassis system.
The MQB platform is a renowned chassis system developed by Volkswagen Group and used across its premium car brands. It represents a strategic advancement in the automotive industry, designed to unify and standardize the platform across various vehicle lines, thereby improving overall quality.
VW Group has invested significant resources and time in developing this chassis solution. Currently, MQB is applied uniformly to all eight brands within the VW Group, including Skoda. The MQB chassis system was calculated and designed by world-leading automotive engineers using five types of steel, not only optimizing occupant protection but also reducing vehicle weight, saving fuel, and enhancing driving feel.
Both the Kodiaq and Karoq models distributed in Vietnam are equipped with the MQB chassis system.
Skoda Vietnam applies an official warranty policy for new vehicles of 3 years with no mileage limit.
