According to information from the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC), in the week from August 25 to 31, the city recorded 1,129 new cases of dengue fever, an increase of 73 cases compared to the previous week and also the highest number of cases recorded since the beginning of 2023.

The highest number of new cases was concentrated in Dong Da district with 105 cases, followed by Cau Giay district with 86 cases, Nam Tu Liem district (77 cases), Hoang Mai district (76 cases), Dan Phuong district (68 cases), and Phu Xuyen district (63 cases).
In addition, the past week saw the recording of 66 new outbreaks in 21 districts, towns, and cities, with the highest number in Dong Anh (10 outbreaks); followed by Phuc Tho (8 outbreaks); Bac Tu Liem (7 outbreaks); Nam Tu Liem (6 outbreaks); Cau Giay (4 outbreaks); Dong Da (3 outbreaks), etc.
From the beginning of 2023 to the present, Hanoi has recorded 6,693 cases of dengue fever, more than four times higher than the same period in 2022, along with 473 outbreaks, of which 142 are currently active.
According to assessments by the Hanoi CDC, in some outbreak areas, the insect index after treatment was 2-3 times higher than the risk threshold. It is predicted that the dengue fever situation will continue to be complex in the coming weeks.
