On the evening of October 15, in Hanoi, Sun Group held a ceremony to launch Sun PhuQuoc Airways, opening the first "resort airline" model in Vietnam.
Expanding tourism and resort opportunities
Sharing at this event, Mr. Dang Minh Truong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Group - said that the above airline was created to expand opportunities for tourism, relaxation and exploration of Phu Quoc for all Vietnamese people and international tourists with direct flights at reasonable costs.

According to him, over the past two decades, Sun Group has been steadfast in its aspiration to beautify lands, creating tourist resorts as entertainment destinations, contributing to bringing Vietnam to the world.
“The establishment of Sun PhuQuoc Airways continues this journey and realizes the spirit of comprehensive integration stated in Resolution 59 of the Politburo on international integration in the new situation. In addition, Resolution 68 also identifies the private economy as an important driving force of the national economy, a pioneer in innovation. We are proud to contribute to realizing the mettle of Vietnamese enterprises in integration and development,” he expressed.
The launch of the airline also completes the tourism ecosystem, contributing to realizing the aspiration of making Phu Quoc in particular and Vietnam in general become a leading destination in the region and the world.
Mr. Truong expressed that, in the spirit of rapid and sustainable development as set out in the Resolution of the 13th National Congress, the group identified aviation as a new growth driver, circular economy and high-quality tourism. The airline is committed to taking safety, sustainability, quality and creativity as core values to foster the intellectual capacity of Vietnamese people, contributing to making aviation and tourism a key economic sector, connecting lands and spreading the Vietnamese spirit to the world.
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan said that the launch of Sun PhuQuoc Airways demonstrates the pioneering, creative and daring spirit of Vietnamese enterprises in joining hands with the Government to realize the aspiration for national development, bringing Vietnam to new heights of development.

Tickets on sale and ready for commercial flights from early November
Previously, on September 25, Sun PhuQuoc Airways was officially granted the Aircraft Operator Certificate (AOC) and Aviation Training Organization Certificate (ATO) by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
The airline also received its first three aircraft, the Airbus A321NX and Airbus A321CEO, out of a total of eight aircraft expected to operate this year. By the end of 2026, the airline's fleet is expected to reach 25 aircraft and aim for around 30-35 aircraft by 2027.
The airline has also completed its operating system, safety procedures, and a plan to operate a “hub-and-spoke” flight network, placing Phu Quoc as the focal point, directly connecting major cities at home and abroad, shortening the journey and reducing dependence on transit.
At the event on the evening of October 15, the airline also launched its flight crew uniform. The uniform was inspired by the ancient Northern five-panel dress and the elegant style of Queen Nam Phuong. The uniform design has a strong Asian influence but is expressed in a modern fashion language.
The airline representative said that since the morning of October 15, Sun PhuQuoc Airways has opened ticket sales on its website, ready for commercial flights from November 1 with the routes Phu Quoc - Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc - Hanoi, Phu Quoc - Da Nang, Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang. From December this year, the airline continues to expand its flight network with the routes Hanoi - Da Nang and Cam Ranh - Phu Quoc.
