On the morning of March 21st, speaking with a VietNamNet reporter , a representative of Thai Hoc bus company (Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province ) stated that immediately after discovering the driver was using his phone to play games while driving, the company decided to suspend the driver, PAĐ (from Son Tay commune, Huong Son district), from his duties.

"We have suspended the male driver from his job and are awaiting the police's handling of the matter according to regulations," a representative of Thai Hoc bus company stated.

According to the bus company, driver PAĐ had only been working for the company for two months when the incident occurred. The vehicle, license plate 38B – 012.14, was equipped with a dashcam, but due to the presence of many other vehicles and the driver's phone being in a blind spot, the company was unable to monitor everything.

Previously, a 2-minute and 52-second video clip appeared on social media showing a bus driver playing games on his phone while driving. The clip was posted by a passenger with the caption: "The journey home is nearly 400km, and I was scared every single moment. If I get off halfway, I won't be able to catch a ride home."

After the video was posted, public opinion was stirred up and outraged. Many people believed that the driver disregarded the lives of the passengers.

According to our investigation, the passenger bus in question has license plate number 38B - 012.14 and is owned by Thai Hoc Bus Company (Hoang Nam Company, located in Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province).

This bus company specializes in long-distance passenger transport on the route between Hanoi and Ha Tinh and vice versa.

The passenger who filmed the video is identified as PVM (born in 1986, from Hai Phong City). Prior to this, Mr. M. visited a friend's hometown in Huong Son district. On March 17th, he booked a ticket with Thai Hoc bus company to travel to Hanoi. The bus, license plate 38B – 012.14, is a 22-seat limousine, picking him up in Huong Son and traveling along National Highway 8 to Hanoi.

Confirming that he was the one who filmed the video, PVM stated that the video was recorded at various times throughout March 17th. At the times when the driver was playing games while driving, the bus was almost full of passengers.

"Throughout the journey, the male driver was playing games while driving many times. At one point, he even shouted loudly when he won a game," PVM shared.

Explaining why he knew the driver was playing games while driving but didn't report it, Mr. M. said that there were two other people from the bus company on the bus who also knew the driver was playing games while driving, but no one said anything. He was worried that if he reported it, the bus company people would make things difficult for him, so he remained silent and used his phone to record the incident.

The incident is currently under investigation by the police.
