Heavy rains on October 25th and 26th have affected daily life and production in several central provinces. Forecasts indicate that heavy rains will continue until October 29th, causing river levels in Hue City and Quang Ngai Province to rise, posing a risk of widespread flooding.
Vietnam Railways Corporation is directing its units to adjust their operating and train schedules to reduce the number of trains running through or stopping in areas affected by natural disasters; developing plans for cargo preservation, transporting reserve supplies, transferring passengers, and preparing sufficient food, water, medicine, and medical supplies in case trains have to be suspended due to floods.
Simultaneously, agencies, units, and localities organized inspections of structures and vulnerable locations at risk of safety hazards due to rain and floods, and reinforced them to ensure safe train operation; strictly implemented patrol and guard duties at vulnerable structures and key areas such as bridges, tunnels, weak sections of track prone to flooding, railway signaling and communication facilities, ensuring smooth communication for safe train operation; areas prone to flash floods, steep mountain passes, rockfalls, landslides, and railway sections downstream of dikes, dams, and reservoirs.
Previously, due to the impact of Typhoon No. 12, which was expected to cause heavy rain in the Hue - Da Nang area, the railway industry would suspend the operation of two pairs of trains, HD1/2 and HD3/4, with the Hue - Da Nang route on October 23 and 24, 2025.
