Strengthen information and widespread communication through various forms about the nature of streptococcal swine disease, blue ear disease, and African swine fever, the risk of disease outbreaks and spread, and disease prevention and control measures for pig herds. Proactively monitor the disease situation closely, detect early, warn, and direct the thorough handling of outbreaks to prevent widespread disease spread; report promptly and fully on the disease situation from the village/neighborhood level to the commune and city levels as prescribed. At the same time, implement the autumn vaccination plan, ensuring that at least 80% of the total existing livestock herd is vaccinated…
Mr. Le Van Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, said that in accordance with the City People's Committee's directive, the unit is coordinating with the Department of Health to investigate, monitor, and trace the epidemiological origin of cases of streptococcal infection in pigs, in accordance with the coordination regulations on the prevention and control of zoonotic diseases in the area. At the same time, they are strengthening the direction of clinical inspection and strict control of animal slaughter at slaughterhouses; resolutely handling cases of sick pigs, suspected sick pigs, and pigs that die during transportation. They are also organizing propaganda and mobilization efforts to raise awareness and responsibility among organizations and individuals involved in the business of slaughtering, processing, and preparing animals to comply with and practice good slaughtering, processing, and preparation procedures to ensure veterinary hygiene and food safety.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Head of the City's Livestock and Veterinary Department, the department is also strengthening veterinary and food safety inspections of animal slaughter facilities; it will strictly handle the slaughter of sick pigs, pigs that died from disease, and those not inspected by veterinary staff as required. In particular, cases of violations will be transferred to the investigative agency if there are signs of criminal offenses.
In addition, the City's Steering Committee for Combating Smuggling, Commercial Fraud, and Counterfeit Goods (Steering Committee 389) actively directed functional forces to strengthen patrols and controls to promptly detect and strictly handle those illegally transporting pigs and pig products from abroad into the city.
