Leaders of the Provincial Women's Union visited the production area of Nhuan Thach clean vegetable growing cooperative managed by women in Dong Tien ward.
In the autumn-winter crop of 2025, the Nhuan Thach clean vegetable growing cooperative managed by women in Dong Tien ward has produced 4 crops of cucumbers, 2 crops of chili and various leafy vegetables all year round since the Provincial Women's Union directed its establishment. The cooperative has 30 members and was initially supported by the Provincial Women's Union with 5.62 tons of bio-fertilizer, NPK and potassium fertilizer; 2 hectares of cucumber seeds; 2 hectares of chili seeds and 2 hectares of corn seeds with a total cost of over 100 million VND. In addition, members contributed counterpart capital for development. From this stimulus resource, the cooperative has maintained production through the seasons, overcoming fragmented and small-scale production methods, increasing production efficiency and high competitiveness, creating jobs, increasing sustainable income for members and women. At the same time, it aims to build a cooperative that produces according to the value chain, a closed process and affirms the brand "Nhuan Thach Clean Vegetable Area".
On the traditional vegetable fields of the ward, members of Nhuan Thach Clean Vegetable Cooperative are taking care of them together every day. Every family’s field is green and lush. The women have income from each season. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi, director of the cooperative, said: “The average output of the cooperative is from 120 to 150 tons/year. The main products are: cucumbers, chili, sticky corn, mustard greens, jute, water spinach... The cooperative also undertakes the "service" of supplying products, distributing to local markets and provincial wholesale markets, and livestream sales centers, so the output is quite stable. This is a new and creative point of the cooperative, aiming to improve production efficiency and product value. Therefore, the cooperative has many members who produce quite well, from 10 to 20 million VND/month, creating jobs for many workers and also being the focal point, connecting and supporting each other to develop. Typical, such as the households of Ms. Thieu Thi Hien, Nguyen Thi Binh, Thieu Thi Thuy, Thieu Thi Dung...”.
Coming to Tay Do Commune's livestock cooperative, we learned that: From small-scale production households, in 2023, the Provincial Women's Union directed the establishment of a cooperative with 10 members. Each household was supported with 300 breeding chickens and 420 kg of feed. The members took good care of the breeding chickens and sold them for meat, while also keeping a part of the parent chickens to re-flock; some households kept a part of the capital to continue buying breeding chickens to raise in between seasons... With this method, the cooperative still maintains the number of animals raised. Members support each other in services, markets, veterinary medicine... so costs are reduced and profits are increased.
These are 2 of 5 cooperatives directed by the Provincial Women's Union to be established under the Project "Supporting cooperatives managed by women and creating jobs for female workers in the period 2022-2030" approved by the Provincial People's Committee. The 5 cooperatives include: Thieu Hoa Commune Agricultural Crop Cooperative; Tay Do Commune Comprehensive Livestock Cooperative; Bim Son Ward Comprehensive Livestock Cooperative; Hoat Giang Commune Shrimp Paste Production and Trading Cooperative; and Nhuan Thach Clean Vegetable Growing Cooperative, managed by women in Dong Tien Ward. This is an important basis to promote the role of women in promoting socio -economic development and achieving gender equality goals.
To implement the project, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union has issued a plan to implement the project for both phases and each year. Every year, the Provincial Women's Union has proactively developed a plan, set specific goals and targets; and at the same time, has practical solutions to effectively implement the set goals and targets. Directed the Women's Union at all levels to review and select registrations to establish cooperatives to develop implementation plans and implement them. Coordinated with the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, the Social Policy Bank, Thanh Hoa Microfinance Organization, Tinh Thuong Microfinance Organization (TYM)... to lend capital to women to develop production and business. Strengthening propaganda and mobilizing women to raise awareness of the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on the role and position of women in economic development, policies and strategies on collective economic development (KTTT), cooperatives of the Central and the province for nearly 100,000 members and women. Improving capacity for female managers and members to access policies, new points of the Law on Cooperatives in 2023. Organizing forums to connect supply and demand, orienting production development associated with key products of each region and locality. Building OCOP products, visiting and learning from typical models inside and outside the province...
To stimulate the development of cooperatives, from the project's funding, the Provincial Women's Union has supported seedlings, fertilizers, breeds, animal feed, tools, and technical training for cooperative members, with a total value of over 700 million VND. Up to now, the cooperatives are operating well, creating jobs for members with an average income of 4-7 million VND/person/month or more and many other satellites. The implementation of the project has contributed to increasing the total number of collective economic models managed by women in the province to 372 models, creating regular jobs for over 4,000 members, women and many seasonal workers.
Comrade Bui Thi Mai Hoan, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, said: The development of collective economic models has helped members and women to link up to develop the economy, increase income, and at the same time promote the potential and advantages of the locality. The results achieved by the project are an important premise for the Provincial Women's Union to continue to direct the implementation throughout the period, in order to develop, consolidate and improve the efficiency of collective economic activities. Especially cooperatives to improve competitiveness, create a chain of safe food products, contributing to the implementation of the goal of gender equality in the economic field.
