The Ministry of Construction assigns the Vietnam Railway Authority and VNR to manage and implement disaster recovery activities within the prescribed scope and responsibility, including reviewing and determining the specific extent of damage to railway infrastructure caused by natural disasters, and repair solutions to overcome the consequences of natural disasters according to regulations; coordinate with the Department of Planning and Finance to advise competent authorities to consider allocating capital for implementation, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
Upon completion of emergency construction and disaster recovery in accordance with the above-mentioned natural disaster emergency situation, the Vietnam Railway Authority and VNR shall report to the Ministry of Construction as a basis for considering the announcement of the end of the natural disaster emergency situation.
The Department of Transport and Traffic Safety (Ministry of Construction) is responsible for urging and directing agencies and units in implementing measures to overcome the consequences of natural disasters on railway infrastructure.
Previously, according to VNR's report, the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line had a total of 61 landslides (average landslide depth of about 0.4-4m, the center of the road had some sections deviated by 4m); damage to signal information.
Regarding construction works and stations, 16 stations were affected by flooding, damaging architectural works, houses and equipment, including the following stations: Dieu Tri, Tan Vinh, Van Canh, La Hai, Xuan Son Nam, Chi Thanh, Hoa Da, Tuy Hoa, Dong Tac, Phu Hiep, Hao Son, Luong Son, Cay Cay, Nga Ba, Ka Rom, Phuoc Nhon.
In addition, the Railway industry has announced the suspension of hundreds of passenger and freight trains, providing free meals to passengers on affected trains, and refunding 39,000 train tickets to passengers, equivalent to nearly VND24 billion.../.
