Thach Ha attracts many large-scale investment projects

Thach Ha district has successfully attracted many projects with large investors. This is a boost on the path to rapid and sustainable development, contributing to making Ha Tinh a province with developed industry.

Driving forces for socio-economic development

At the end of August 2023, in Hanoi, in the presence of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung handed over the investment policy decision for the construction and operation of infrastructure in the Bac Thach Ha Industrial Park, and approved the investor as Vietnam-Singapore Urban and Industrial Park Development Joint Stock Company (VSIP).

This is one of four major projects nationwide that received investment approval at the Vietnam-Singapore Cooperation Conference. The project has a total investment capital of nearly VND 1,600 billion (investor's contribution is VND 233.326 billion), located within Phase 1 of the Bac Thach Ha Industrial Park, covering an area of ​​190.41 hectares in Thach Lien and Viet Tien communes. The project's operating period is 50 years.

Upon receiving this news, the people of Thach Ha in particular, and Ha Tinh in general, were delighted and excited. The project, chosen by a major Singaporean investor, not only brings new vitality to the local socio-economic development but also opens up many job opportunities for people in the province. Mr. Vo Van Thanh, a resident of Viet Tien commune, shared: “We believe that the project, once implemented, will invest in synchronized infrastructure with a safe and efficient production environment. From there, it will open up many job opportunities and develop trade and services for local people.”

At the conference announcing the provincial planning and promoting investment in Ha Tinh, held at the end of May 2023, two projects in Thach Ha were granted investment approval with a total investment of 2,952 billion VND.

In addition to this project, the Provincial Planning and Investment Promotion Conference in Ha Tinh, held at the end of May 2023, marked an important step in promoting investment activities in Thach Ha district. Two projects received investment approval decisions totaling VND 2,952 billion (including the Wyndham Costa Ha Tinh high-end beach resort project; and the Thach Trung urban area and Thach Ha town project); six memoranda of understanding were signed between major domestic and foreign investors totaling over VND 8,923.6 billion, covering an area of ​​978.35 hectares.

In 2023, Thach Ha district approved 6 investment projects with a total capital of over 3,633 billion VND. Accordingly, from the beginning of the term to date, the district has approved the investment policy and approved investors for 25 projects with a total registered capital of over 5,109.4 billion VND. To date, the entire district has 219 investment projects with a total investment of over 21,679 billion VND.

In addition, the district is currently promoting and providing feedback on investment plans for the following projects: Tan Lam Huong Industrial Cluster and the Southwest Industrial Park of Ha Tinh City. Simultaneously, it continues to attract investment and fill the land area of ​​the Phu Viet Industrial Cluster in Viet Tien commune; and seeks businesses to explore and propose investment plans for the Thach Khe Industrial Cluster. Furthermore, the implementation of the Thach Ha Urban Sub-project, part of the "Improving Urban Infrastructure to Respond to Climate Change in 4 Coastal Provinces of North Central Vietnam" project, with a total investment of 32.464 million Euros funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), is proving effective and further affirms Thach Ha's efforts in attracting investment.

Surrounding Ha Tinh City, Thach Ha district possesses numerous advantages in terms of transportation, land, and geographical location. With a natural area of ​​35,391 hectares, its diverse topography includes plains, hills, forests, and the sea, and is divided into three distinct regions: plains (Bac Ha), semi-mountainous areas (Southwest), and coastal areas (Bai Ngang). The district has a convenient transportation system with 73.1 km of national highways, 61.3 km of district roads, 57.33 km of inter-commune roads, and approximately 18.27 km of main routes and 8.62 km of branch routes of the North-South Expressway (Eastern section) currently under construction.

According to the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Thach Ha will develop three zones: the Bac Ha zone, planned as the "VSIP Industrial Park and Urban and Service Area" and the Phu Viet Industrial Cluster; the Southwest zone, planned as the "Southwest Thach Ha District Commercial - Service - Tourism and Sports Zone" and the Industrial Park west of Ha Tinh City, and the Tan Lam Huong Industrial Cluster; and the coastal zone, planned as the Van Tri Beach Tourist Area, the Thach Hoi Beach Tourist Area, and the Thach Khe Industrial Cluster.

The district boasts numerous historical and cultural relics, with 110 classified sites (including 7 national-level historical relics), and many famous scenic spots. Thach Ha also has a system of pristine beaches stretching over 20 km, featuring many beautiful swimming areas (Thach Hai, Thach Hoi, Thach Tri, Thach Van). These characteristics and advantages give Thach Ha significant potential for socio-economic development linked to trade, services, and tourism.
