This meaningful activity is part of the "Love, Support" program implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and the VinaCapital Foundation since November 2021. Through this program, the aim is to provide free healthcare and education support to over 2,300 orphaned children and disadvantaged children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in the city.

This health check-up took place over two days, May 20th and 21st, at the City Children's Hospital. Children received general check-ups; ear, nose, and throat examinations; dental and maxillofacial examinations; eye examinations; musculoskeletal examinations; and psychological health assessments. If any illness was detected, the children would receive follow-up examinations and treatment at the City Children's Hospital, with treatment and travel costs subsidized by the "Love to Support Children's Steps" program. The organizers also presented meaningful gifts and provided meals for the children participating in the program.

Mr. Rad Kivette, CEO of VinaCapital Foundation, emphasized: VinaCapital Foundation, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, and other organizations are striving to ensure that all orphaned and disadvantaged children receive adequate psychosocial care, quality healthcare services, and comprehensive educational support until adulthood. The "Love, Nurturing Steps" program continues to be implemented through a scientific assessment of each child, subsequently developing short-term, medium-term, and long-term solutions to ensure their health and future success.

According to Ms. Dinh Phuong Thao, Deputy Secretary of the Binh Chanh District Youth Union, the district has a large area and population, with over 50% of its residents being immigrants. The majority of the district's children are the offspring of young workers and immigrants. After the Covid-19 pandemic, the district had 202 orphaned children. Activities such as post-Covid-19 health check-ups and consultations, and mental health care for children are among the key areas that the Youth Union and Children's Union at all levels consistently focus on implementing.

It is known that since 2022, the "Love to Help Children" program has organized three free medical check-up and treatment sessions for more than 3,000 children, including orphans due to Covid-19 and children from disadvantaged families. The examinations revealed that many children were experiencing serious health problems such as psychological issues, eye problems, dental problems, and malnutrition. The program has provided 100% financial support for long-term treatment to ensure the children's physical and mental health.

On this occasion, the VinaCapital Foundation, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City, Scenic Group, and other partners, organized the inauguration and handover of five water purification systems to schools lacking adequate facilities. The total value of the water purification systems is over 350 million VND.

Specifically, reverse osmosis (RO) water filtration systems combined with ultraviolet light were donated to five schools: Nguyen Van Tran Primary School (Binh Chanh District), Duong Van Lich Primary School (Nha Be District), Nguyen Hue Secondary School (District 4), Bui Van Moi Primary School and Truong Thanh Primary School (both in Thu Duc City). These water filtration systems contribute to providing clean water for more than 5,500 students and hundreds of teachers and staff at these schools.
