After the victory over the Philippines, the Vietnamese team rose to 93rd place in the world . Coach Troussier's team reached the milestone achieved under coach Park Hang Seo.

In the opening match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the Vietnamese team won 2-0 against the Philippines at Rizal Memorial Stadium on the evening of November 16. This victory helped the "Golden Star Warriors" regain confidence after 3 consecutive losses against China, South Korea, and Uzbekistan in October (friendly matches).
