To clarify the incident, the Zoo has drawn up a 90-page report, recording all the shared posts and comments related to the above article. The entire file has been sent to the authorities for handling according to the law, in order to protect the reputation of the unit and ensure a transparent information environment.
Saigon Zoo is known for being home to hundreds of stray cats, which have become an integral part of the park.
These cats are regularly fed by staff and local residents. Veterinarians also monitor their health to ensure they do not negatively impact the local animal ecosystem.
Cats are everywhere in the zoo, from small enclosures to those housing feral animals, living peacefully alongside other animals. Some cats even become "stars," like Mika – the "chief" in the bear enclosure.
However, recently, some social media accounts have been spreading information that the zoo uses stray cats as food for crocodiles.
Faced with this false information, the Zoo's leadership quickly spoke up to deny it, affirming that this was an act of slander. The unit is conducting legal procedures to handle accounts spreading false information, including accounts that reshare this content.
Saigon Zoo is urging the public to report any similar false information they discover so that the zoo can take timely action.
According to Saigon Zoo, this is a necessary action to protect the organization's reputation and ensure a healthy information environment on the internet.
